o.k time for a little recap as i have now recovered enough to gather my thoughts. Met up with (slightly damaged) tillyfilly at crewe, (hope knee is not too bad), to whom i must be eternally gratefull for her sterling work finding hotel and great tixs for wed, got caught in heavy downpour and arrived at hotel ,like a pair of drowned rats. after shaking of water and putting on glad rags (mine are never that glad),we headed to LALA. KUDOS TO THE ORGANISERS (jill and helpers) great night! i so enjoyed meeting all the other Atopers there ,ha i now know what you look like.its quite surprising how noone ever looks how i imagine them to! wed night was amazing ,i was just blown away, there are people hear who can describe the music far better than me so i will leave that to them, Thurs ,GA ,we decided not to queue ,Tilly,s leg had now blown up like one of the party balloons, and was getting quite scary looking . arrived at venue after 7.00 and got places on the left about 4 ROWS BACK! couldnt believe we were so close! the atmosphere was building and just turned electrifying when the concert started up and we were having a blast untill 2 huge, and i mean HUGE guys 6" plus and well built(fat) started pushing forward and bouncing off people in the crowd, one bounced off me,wrong move ,the inner jack russell flew out the cage and before i could stop it ,it sank its claws into the guy,s neck, and hauled him back by the scruff of his neck! the other (bigger) one then bounced off me ,so i dug the heal of my boot into his foot and ground down with all my weight,so after yelling at me "are you 5 or what "they both behaved ! after it calmed down i did realise that was a stupid thing to do ,as i am not very big and 60yr old ,so we decided to move a few rows back for the encore to avoid any retaliation from them, but still had an amazing view ,perhaps even better for the spectacle that followed. the downer ,i could not raise any money for tillyfilly ,no,one buy,s a lame horse!!! so had to return to scotland, but so wished i had been able to stay for round 3 it was a fantastic experience ,one i will remember a long time (untill dementia sets in) huge thank you to tilly filly for your company ,a real trouper ,hope your leg recovers. also a HUGE thank you to CATZ, for the live stream last night ,i feel honoured to have met you!!! please excuse grammar +typo,s Thanks for the recap lilly. A Queen fans told the same story about these two guys and he/she even posted their picture, because she/he's so mad at them ;D

First of all, a huge thank you to all who contributed the board with your time and diligence and thus made it possible to us at home to enjoy it all!!!!!!!
It has been TRUE MAGIC on stage. I have always appreciated Queen, their stellar songs with harmonies and also the variety of styles they use. It was delightful to hear those songs performed again in such a fashion. I think Adam did a remarkable job and blew life and energy to the band which made the shows so wonderful, a real experience for all. It was a treat to hear him sing this material and to see the exuberant joy on their faces, how much fun they had making music together.
Very intense and gratifying two weeks with a lot of feelings and memories, old and new, to process. Excellent material to use introducing Adam as an artist to new people, too.

I don't see anybody post this review. This is from a long time Queen fans: Queen + Adam Lambert, Hammersmith Apollo, London By Keith Blakemore-Noble – July 12, 2012Which just leaves the major question. How was Adam? Wow! His voice is absolutely stunning, no other way to describe it. He has considerable power and a huge vocal range - that guy can SING. He did justice to all the songs, making very good work of the entire selection of songs. He did not try to imitate Freddie, he did not try to pretend to be Freddie. He was clearly his own man, performing the songs in his own style, but in keeping with the overall feel of Queen. He brought a lot of youthful playfulness as well to the show. My only criticism was that he was not as 'dynamic' as one might have liked.
However, it is important to remember that we are talking about someone with very limited live experience - if we are going to make the tedious inevitable comparisons with Freddie, then let's remember that Adam has been in the music business for only 3 years; when Freddie had been in the music business for 3 years, Queen had not even released their first album yet (that would be a year later). Of course Adam doesn't compare in terms of stage presence with Freddie of the mid 1980's, but then again neither would the Freddie with 3 years experience. I believe that with appropriate training and apprenticing, Adam could go on to develop quite the stage presence, he just needs the experience. He certainly managed to work the crowd well, everyone seeming to thoroughly enjoy themselves; certainly the people I spoke to afterwords were very happy to have been there. At one stage in the show, Brian said of Adam 'What do you think? He's a keeper, isn't he?' - very much so! I certainly hope that more grows out of this short collaboration - a full proper tour and an album or two over time would be extremely interesting. [/blockquote] www.blakemore-noble.net/gigs/queen-adam-lambert-hammersmith-apollo-london/I especially like when he's talking about Adam and Freddie. Very realistic observations and very true. If you like it, please give his blog a lot of hits.
While I do not disagree with the general viewpoint of his comments, I do wonder what "appropriate training and apprenticing" means and it had me rolling my eyes a bit. Sure Adam will get better as he performs live and we have seen him grow so much during the GNT and even over the 6 dates of this mini tour but the phrase "appropriate training and apprenticing" seems a bit over the top and old school to me.

For those of us sublimating at home, it's been fun capturing and berting over the images, videos and stories of this epic Queen+Adam series. We are so lucky to live in this age of connected communities!www.capitalfm.com/artists/lawson/news/queen-adam-lambert/Lawson Hail Queen And Adam Lambert's London Concert As "Unbelievable" - Video15th July 2012, 13:27 The 'Taking Over Me' four-piece say the UK concert was the best gig they have been to. Lawson have hailed Adam Lambert and Queen's live performance in London last night as "unbelievable" and the "best gig" they have ever seen. The 'Never Close Our Eyes' singer joined legendary rock band Queen this weekend for a series of shows in the UK capital, and 'When She Was Mine' four-piece Lawson got to watch them perform live at the HMV Hammersmith Apollo yesterday (14th July). "Adam Lambert and Queen at the hammersmith apollo. His voice is unbelievable," Lawson singer Andy Brown tweeted on Saturday. "That was the best thing I've ever seen! #Queen&AdamLambert." "Watching Queen at hammersmith. Already the best gig ever," bassist Ryan Fletcher also posted. "Queen live with Adam Lambert singing is the best thing I've ever seen. ... more

I'm pretty sure he has learned a ton of things from these 6 concerts. We think he's amazing now, in few years he's going to even.. more amazing than he's now, not only his voice is going more mature but also more jaws will be on the floor whenever he has his own concerts. I know I'm going to get pile on for this.. but whatever... For once or twice we get this good review from a long time Queen fans instead of dissing and bashing... so I'm happy. We can read what they think of Adam and actually impressed by him.. so I'm happy. And this blog also brought to the Queen forum, and I'm happy also so they can read that more Queen fans have embrased this collaborations.

I am not going to pile on in any way but I am not coming at this in terms of a good or bad review, I am questioning where the author images Adam is going to go to get this "appropriate training and apprenticing". Yes, I agree he will continue to grow as performer and that there is room to develop his wonderful talent but for me the phrase is interesting and funny.
