There was NOTHING back door about Adam doing the lead vocal on LMD. It is how things like this happen all the time.

And in my book being a featured artist with a soon to be hit track on the #1 album in the world, and working on that artist's next album already, and being the preferred frontman for Queen and co-headlining at iHeartRadio Music Festival, and grabbing a multi-episode starring role on GLEE -- this is not back door. And think about the smiles over at DMG as they are working the deals for Adam right now.

If you do not think he is hot, you have blinders on.

Think about it -- there were only two famous indie artists on the stage at the MTV VMA's -- one [Macklemore] who wants to stay independent, and Adam who may just be re-evaluating the benefits of being an independent artist.

If he is indie and can be a featured artist on promoted singles of other major label artists, he does not need to prostitute himself to a major label. He can call his own shots.

All he needs is a distribution deal.

Seriously, RCA is looking stupider as the time passes.

Finally, artists do not necessarily make more more doing arena tours. The sweet spots for net profit are 80%+ sold 5,000-10,000 seat venues and 3,000 seat casino venues [where Adam is now], and arena tours with tickets >$200 average and sellouts. Only a few artist can make money touring arenas in 2012.

The arenas stay in business with sports....

I think Avicii always needs someone to wrote the lyrics for his songs. For example, the first single Wake Me Up he already composed the melody and needs someone to write the lyric and he knows this guy in LA, Aloe Blac and ask him to do the lyrics for him. So it's possible he was given the line, "Lay Me Down in Darknes, Tell me what you see.. " and was asked to do the rest of the lyrics.

...I would not count in outdoor fairs as arenas...to me that is different.

However he makes money is good for him...and the fans.   There is a renewed  sense of excitement and anticipation of "SOMETHING ADAM" happening.

What exactly is the definition of arena? On this list of indoor arenas en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_indoor_arenas there are some with listed with capacity as low as 5K, still with "arena" in the name. Adam played at Hartwell Arena in Finland.

I'm trying to figure out the feasibility of a NYE trip to Thackerville - can anyone help me? I'm hearing either one hour drive from Dallas or 90 min. - wondering which is more accurate?

Does anyone know how high they jack up the room rates for the Winstar for NYE? Flights I'm looking at seem to be $500+ at this time (from No. Cal) yikes! Have to estimate the total cost before I can determine if it's do-able for me.

The fan club email supposedly said they are not "offering VIP packages" - does anyone know if that means they will not offer VIP seats either? Or just the packages. I wonder if the casino holds the VIP seats for a package deal that they will announce later.

Not sure that I'm willing to spend a thousand bucks and not be able to at least sit somewhere in a good viewing distance - don't need to be front & center - but after flying to London to end up with a seat where I couldn't even see the front of the stage, I've learned my lesson there.

Does anyone know what the venue looks like - is it all flat or sloped? My favorite casino show ever was River Rock in Vancouver - nice venue - the seats had a raised stadium feel - I think it was smaller though.

I would love to know how much Adam would be paid for the NYE show also. Wonder if he will have the backup singers and/or any dancers for this show? Can't even remember who he brought to Bali?

Maybe 500k plus expenses? Or is that too much? I think it's interesting that Train is playing there on NY day at night though - can't imagine most people wanting to go to a concert on 1/1, a Wed night after most party the night before.

I thought it was a bit odd that Tim, Nile, Adam all talked about "writing" LMD but like someone else posted, I think that's common from what I've seen - whether there are 2 or 6 writers, they will all say I wrote such and such.

I am very pleased overall with how Tim has treated and spoken of Adam and of course Nile has been amazing to Adam too. I feel very impressed with these 2 men, who I see as very evolved, and comfortable in their own skin, which is probably why they both hit it off with Adam!

Thanks for this, Q3!  I certainly have no doubt that AFL is hot - in a business sense as well!  I'm ecstatic at the well-deserved, high profile gigs coming his way.  It's wonderful to see all his hard work and generosity opening doors, paving the way to longevity.

I love his authenticity, and that he chooses to continue being who he is no matter what.  ILHSFM. 

Also, I'm picturing mys*&@^#r's dancing cats and $$$ signs in my head.  That and some red pants.

Yes to $$$. I think network TV pays a lot, so I hope Adam is on numerous Glee episodes.
