It seems like the owls are outnumbered here. Larks seems to rule the world. Have you ever noticed that the "hard working" employees are the ones who show up early -- like 7AM and leave at 4PM, and the "eccentric" employees are the ones who work 10AM to 9PM or midnight -- working many more hours but getting far less credit. It is the tyranny of the larks! But remember, owl can eat larks. They make a nice snack! Thankfully for all you larks around here I am a vegetarian owl! Me too! And that is so true, I normally arrive at work around 9 AM, and I can see what people are thinking about that. What they don't see is how many hours I make after everybody goes home. One great thing: after 6 PM there are not many or sometimes no people in the office, which means I can blast some Adam music from my computer speakers. And you're very welcome here, concert time in Amsterdam is around 1PM every day. Now... what reason could I come up with for some extra long lunch breaks... Maybe an important meeting with an American Marketing Exec?

Owl checking in. My goal in life was to get high enough in the food chain so I could work from home or choose my own hours. Thankfully, I did. Babs12 is a lark, so you can imagine how delightful it is for us to share a room! Babs takes her shower and goes off to get her coffee, and I pretend 8 am exists. I bet Adam and Queen are owls, so we are in good company!

When I get "the look" or a comment I just say I am early for the second shift and keep going...

Hey don't diss the larks! I'm one of those hard-working larks who show up at work before 7 and leave before 4!!! It gives me at least 2 blissful hours to myself in the morning with no interruptions to actually get things done; the rest of my day fills up with meetings & questions from colleagues. (and getting in early is the only way I can avoid the traffic!) And then I start the second shift, ofc... Dinner, homework, soccer etc. By 11 pm I'm done for. No night owl here!
