Lelemaple I just saw the pic and was rushing back here to edit the above - but you beat me to it!
Great pic - both you and MyS*&@^#r look to be glowing with joy. So envious ( and now I know what you look like for when we meet this side of the pond in January!)

So envious ( and now I know what you look like for when we meet this side of the pond in January!) Yea! Let's have a big party on your side of the pond in January! Lelemaple & I arrive on Thursday morning. Want to go sightseeing on Friday and to a show Friday night. And more sightseeing during the day on Saturday and Sunday. Any good suggestions? We are also going to the Beatles museum in Liverpool on the day off between Manchester & Birmingham concerts. We are taking the train between cities. Also, we could use any other travel tips! Like what services do we tip for and how much?

MAY THOUGHT QUEEN ARENA SHOWS WERE BEHIND THEM
NEWS / MARTIN KIELTY / 07 NOV 2014 www.teamrock.com/news/2014-11-07/brian-may-queen-arena-shows-behind-themBrian believes UK gigs with Adam Lambert are gift from God - and says they wouldn’t have happened if singer had been “a shit” ... The remaining members of Queen weren’t looking for a singer when Lambert came into their lives, May says. “We just thought, ‘My God, this guy can do it.’ The final piece of the puzzle is that he’s a nice guy. If he was a shit it wouldn’t be fun and it wouldn’t have happened. “He’s a good guy; he’s fun, he’s entertaining, he’s open to ideas and he brings lots of ideas in. When we were putting this setlist together he didn’t just go, ‘I’ll do what you want’ – he said, ‘Look, how about we try this?’ So we had a proper birth process for the material of this tour. “I just feel very grateful that we’re out there and can do it.” ... That is a completely adorable article. I like this, talking about the arena tour; "May says it even takes some of the sting out of being a grandfather. “One of my grandchildren was talking to his teacher at school and said, ‘ Oh, you should hear my granddad’s band,' I thought, how do you compute that?" (italics are mine). I don't have grandkids but I can feel his astonishment that he does and Queen is NOT what immediately comes to mind when you hear the words, my granddad's band. LOL. </div>I guess the Paul Rodger tour 8-10 years ago never happened?!

Thank you! I am so lucky that I was able to go. I am still in shock! Wonderful opportunity!! So how nervous were you? Or pretty calm? And before your mind goes in a blur from the shock, and it becomes a blur....can you fill us in on ....how many / types who attended, was there a talk by Brian then the signings following? Just so cool for you and my s*&@^#r ....hoping for more memories of what you said, his response etc. If too private....just say so....I can appreciate that. No, talk beforehand. No place for a talk, tiny bookstore. I'd say about 80 people. But his book is 60+ dollars, so could be a consideration for many. Very mixed crowd, men, women, youngish (30s) older (me! LOL!) But I think Dr May's wrinkles and mine match beautifully!

Just so cool for you and my s*&@^#r ....hoping for more memories of what you said, his response etc. If too private....just say so....I can appreciate that. I was soooooo nervous. My hands do not normally shake and they were trembling. I don't even remember what all was said, only parts of it, LOL. The crowd was mixed, males and females, mostly people in their 30s and up I would say. Brian did not have a talk; the bookstore is not laid out to have that kind of event. They basically lined us up in the front of the store and on the right side and he was in the center part of the back, so we just made our way back there. Everyone had at least a minute to two up there; he was super accommodating. He signed the books while he was talking to us and then invited us around to the back of the table to take pictures with us. He asked me where I was from, and I told him that I was a Queen fan because of my brother. Then after the pictures, I mentioned that I was going to the UK and to 6 shows and he was kinda surprised in a good way. It's hard to describe his reaction but it was great. He even joked with the girl to take three dozen pictures after I changed my phone from video to photo. I'd say there were 75 people there, give or take a few, and the whole thing went very smoothly. Nobody hogged his time and he was super patient. The most interesting thing I learned about Brian is how truly soft spoken he is. He seems that way in interviews but to hear it in person is an entirely different experience. His voice is so soft if that makes sense. It got me thinking if he has any hearing loss like Roger has. The two aren't related but I am wondering about it.
He's just a gentle soul and has such an incredible spirit and aura around him. He is calming if that makes sense, and the fact that he's such a supreme guitarist and an astrophysicist is beyond words. I am more in awe of him today than I was yesterday. The fact that he and Adam have a mutual respect for each other is not surprising, given how they both are as people. Truly incredible! This experience will be on my mind for a very long time.

I also heard 'Words fail me'? Whew, thank you, you all have better hearing than me or at least not all the cobwebs I apparently have between my ears. I kept listening over and over just trying to decipher what Brian was saying. What an amazing moment that must have been for Adam to be recognized in a room-full of music icons. I remember how irritated I used to get when I read comments after articles claiming Adam's "15 minutes" were almost over. Well, he's well past those "15 minutes" and, as we all knew from the beginning, he has what it takes to stick around for many, many years. Before the "words fail me" he starts describing Adam "and the guy is just a ... actually words fail me".

Adam-related: At the book signing yesterday, mys*&@^#r and I met this super nice guy in line who became a Queen fan in 1992. He had seen Queen with Paul Rodgers and was satisfied, but then saw Adam and was blown away. He even admitted that he cried twice during one of the shows, can't remember if it was the Forum or Vegas. How cool is that? He even proposed to his girlfriend at or after the Vegas show and has a tattoo on his arm that says "any way the wind blows - 7-5-14." What an amazing guy! I LOVE this story... these last few years of AFL fanning AdamSinghave brought so much fun and joy and Adam's association with my adored Queen has been delicious icing on the cake !!

From various bits and pieces that Brian & Roger have dropped in interviews my impression is that while Q+PR would be considered successful and they certainly don't seem to have any regrets about it the "feeling" wasn't comparable to what touring Queen had been. I get the distinct impression that for them this has "felt" most like Queen did in the old days. Brian frequently talks about the audience response to QAL in a way that he doesn't talk about QPR. Brian has also mentioned on several occasions the old friend who had seen them perform in all the various iterations including Brian and Rogers solo tours but who told Brian after one of the NA shows that he felt like it was the first time since Freddie was gone that he had seen Queen again.
