Hi Atop, I'm here because I have something I need to get off my chest.
I was just on Facebook, and to my surprise, Somebody to Love was trending! (12/2/14 at ~4 PM eastern time)
I checked it out, and I soon came across one of the worst posts (in terms of comments) I've ever seen. I've read more than my fair share of comment section stupidity in my time being an Adam fan, but this
one particular post stood out to me because I'm not used to universal whine-fests anymore!
See, I've realized that most of the filth spewed in these comment sections is simply parroting - those too dim to form their own opinions repeat phrases uttered by others with similar mindsets. What better way to document lazy repetition than with a drinking game?
Therefore I bring you...
the QAL comment section drinking game! With bonus overly parroted keywords/phrases.
1) Take a drink every time someone attempts to discredit Adam based on his background as a TV singing show contestant. (keywords: "karaoke"; "credibility"; "the struggle, or lack thereof")
2) Take a drink every time someone mentions that George Michael should be touring with Queen instead based on that one performance he gave at the FM tribute concert over 22 years ago.
3) Take a drink every time someone suggests Marc Martel should be touring with Queen instead. (keywords: "sounds just like Freddie"; "even looks like him")
4) Take a drink every time someone helpfully points out that Adam is not, in fact, Freddie Mercury.
5) Take a drink when somebody attempts to express dismay on Freddie's behalf. (keywords: "spinning"; "grave"; "Freddie would be [adj] if he saw this!")
6) Take a drink whenever somebody praises John Deacon for respectfully disappearing rather than wreaking havoc on the Queen legacy. (keywords: "integrity")
7) Take two drinks whenever someone asserts that Brian and Roger have no right to call themselves "Queen". (keywords: "nothing without Freddie!")
8) Take a drink whenever someone expresses concern over the state of Queen's legacy.
9) Take a drink whenever someone claims that Paul Rodgers is the better Queen frontman based on his past experience fronting rock bands.* (keywords: "credibility"; "legacy")
10) Drink the remainder of the bottle when someone says that Adam is just not a good singer.
Welp, have I covered just about everything?
Have fun, and don't pass out.
*For the record, I have no problem with people preferring Paul's voice/performance style. That's opinion. But regarding experience, you don't go to a concert and say "Gee, this guy is an amazing performer, but I still can't like him because I know that he hasn't fronted his own successful band before and therefore lacks rawk cred."
