(Sigh) Where's that cowlicky pompadour picture? I'm on my phone and can't find it. Time for droolin'.... I like this one (whole face and curly forehead lick) but there are so many more. I could crop if you like. Thanks, hon! No need to crop.

I am one of the "old" (damn I hate that term) fans who loves both Queen and Q+AL and am will to accept both on their own terms. I think most Queen fans seems to have a good time at the Q+AL concerts. As Brian said, no one has to go to see these shows. JMHO, Queen (1974-1982) was different than Q+AL: 1. Queen was one of these bands that rarely looked like they were have fun or joked around on stage. They were a "serious" rock band. With Q+AL they appear to be having fun on stage -- for example, I saw Brian May dance on stage, even with his band knee and total lack of dancing ability. 2. On stage, Queen circa 1975-1982 (that is when I saw them live versus watch 2D video) was dominated by Freddie. You can see it in the official video release but it was even moreso onstage. Q+AL is more balanced and Brian is more important. It is more like Queen circa 1974 than Queen after "A Night At The Opera". If you doubt me, take a moment and compare "Live at the Rainbow" (1974) to "Queen Rock Montreal" (1981). It may just be fond memories, or personal preference, but I am partial to Queen live circa 1974 and Queen recordings from 1974 - 1976 when they were closest to their rock roots and when it was a more balanced band. NOTE: I still consider Freddie Mercury to be the best rock frontman I ever saw live, although Adam is my favorite live vocalist and performer. Both can be true. I am proof.
hee.. I don't use that term and you're one of the luckiest fans who have the chances to see both the original Queen and QAL. I'm so jealous. Queen circa, I was in elementary and watched them on VSHs . Gosh I love Freddie, Brian and Roger .. not really into base playing yet.. so not really into John, not until I was in college.
I wonder if I would trade seeing so many people live in the late 60's and 70's and make myself 15 years younger -- nah! I had too much fun!! I play the bass poorly and was actually once in a rock band of no note which achieved zero fame -- but I know enough to appreciate a great bass player. John is a great bass player. BTW Neil Faircloth is not shabby.

Haven't posted in a awhile, thought I'd pop in and say hello! Queen & Adam were terrific on XFactor. Loved that performance. Had to laugh about Adam fucking the camera with his eyes. Brought back old Idol memories. Anyway, I recorded it yesterday and can watch it as many times as I want on the big screen now! Talon, I enjoy your perspective. Love that you're comfortable enough with us to speak up. HAHA Taylor John sang Falling Slowly, on The Voice. Waves!! I agree about the XFactor performance did bring back a bit of old Idol memories.

Talon - I don't post on QOL, but do read there from time to time. I have seen your posts and you are just as fair and balanced there as you are here. Your straight forward view of the QAL partnership is much appreciated and at least by me, always welcome.Me too...

I was also a long-time Queen fan before Adam, and I know there are quite a few of us here *waves* -- I actually cried when I was 25 feet from Brian May in Vancouver this summer! Seeing Queen live was one of those things I thought I had missed completely, so Adam and Queen has been a fulfillment of a dream in a number of ways. After that concert, I decided to fly across the country for less than 48 hours to see them again... Amazing. And Talon, I love all your Queen knowledge--it puts mine to shame!
