Now that's just ridiculous. I like Adam. I'm about as open minded a Queen fan that can be but c'mon now. (Mostly annoyed at the way the article is presented) Unlike Many Queen fans, I'm not annoyed at Brian's words.
That headline is designed to get attention and a reaction. It has nothing to do with anything that Brian actually said. IMO it should've have even been posted because it's just a piece of tripe twisting Brian's words and looking for hits.
As for "many" queen fans being annoyed, I don't think a few posters on QOL or QZ are indicative of an entire fanbase nor do I think anyone who hasn't seen Adam live can disregard Brian's opinion on the current shows v. the shows with Freddie since he is the one who has performed with both.
I agree with you that few posters on QOL aren't indicative of an entire fan base. The opinion of the hardcore Freddie fans that people who purchase QAL concerts tickets are casual Queen fans. So they just dismissed the other Queen fans just because they don't post on the fansclub . The discussion on the site about this subject are giving me headache but it's kind of funny. The posters who's been in Queen concerts (1979-1985) refused to go to QAL concerts so they have not experienced the QAL concerts, the energy, etc. Some that were in QAL concerts were too young or have never got a chance to see the original Queen in concerts. Some Queen fans that have seen Freddie and attending QAL, they're not posting in QOL and IMO most of them don't really care about it they just want to be there for Brian and Roger and enjoying the music again. And the FUNNIEST of all are posters that have never seen original Queen in concerts nor QAL were giving their opinion about both concerts like they're the experts and know better than Brian... OMG. .
I believe Brian was talking about the energy of the concert and IMO he's not comparing both frontmen. He's not the only one who feels that the energy were as good as back then when they're on tour with Freddie. There's on guy that used to work for Queen and he was attending one of the QAL Canada. I didn't remember the name, but he met Brian again and told him that "It's like it used to be". I believe that guy was also talking about the energy in the building, the fans, etc.
Anyway, I also don't like that some websites twisting and manipulating what Brian said just to get some "clicks".

Just think, at some point Adam is going to release new music!
Yep and that's why Brian said that the collaboration is not indefinite. Because as much as Adam's having fun and enjoying working together with Brian and Roger, his own career is more important to him, his management and his fans. And I don't believe that they postpone A3 because of the Queen collaborations. I believe the QAL tour happens because his A3 albums not ready yet.

I am one of the "old" (damn I hate that term) fans who loves both Queen and Q+AL and am will to accept both on their own terms. I think most Queen fans seems to have a good time at the Q+AL concerts. As Brian said, no one has to go to see these shows. JMHO, Queen (1974-1982) was different than Q+AL: 1. Queen was one of these bands that rarely looked like they were have fun or joked around on stage. They were a "serious" rock band. With Q+AL they appear to be having fun on stage -- for example, I saw Brian May dance on stage, even with his band knee and total lack of dancing ability. 2. On stage, Queen circa 1975-1982 (that is when I saw them live versus watch 2D video) was dominated by Freddie. You can see it in the official video release but it was even moreso onstage. Q+AL is more balanced and Brian is more important. It is more like Queen circa 1974 than Queen after "A Night At The Opera". If you doubt me, take a moment and compare "Live at the Rainbow" (1974) to "Queen Rock Montreal" (1981). It may just be fond memories, or personal preference, but I am partial to Queen live circa 1974 and Queen recordings from 1974 - 1976 when they were closest to their rock roots and when it was a more balanced band. NOTE: I still consider Freddie Mercury to be the best rock frontman I ever saw live, although Adam is my favorite live vocalist and performer. Both can be true. I am proof.

On some forums or comment sections, why do some people feel that as a die-hard fan, you must choose being in either Freddie's camp or Adam's camp? The arguments for either side sometime seem in vain, as you can't really compare these two. Their musical talents, engaging personalities and relationships to the other Queen members are/were unique. As Adam has repeated over and over again, he cannot touch Freddie's legacy. His "mission" is to bring to life, the timeless music of Queen, and to entertain new and old fans in the same vigor and showmanship that Freddie would have done. I love that Brian and Roger have embraced Adam, not as a guest frontman, but as a worthy band member. A lot of musical groups and bands from the 60s, 70s through to the 2000s are still performing today, even with the loss of certain members. A lot of thought was put into the QAL concert production so that there was a balance for those who love Queen's music, Freddie and Adam. For example, Freddie's Bohemian Rhapsody will always be my favorite, but I will also enjoy those who can sing it well, as Adam did over 5 years ago when he first belted out, "Mama, just killed a man". These days, he is not only honoring Freddie and keeping his band's legacy alive, but also being true to himself while entertaining the masses. Yet, the negative comments rear their ugly heads time and time again. When Adam is onstage, he is beaming with pride of performing with Brian and Roger. If audiences are willing to buy tickets, why would they not want to do future tours or concert events? I believe Adam can have the best of both worlds - his own artistic ambitions (which go beyond singing) and a place in history as a legitimate Queen band member. .. Agree.. agree.. agree!!! And because they don't see it the way you and other Adam fans see it.

From what I can tell, this collaboration means a great deal to him and is part of his career path. This tour is happening because of demand from from fans, including a lot of Adam's fans who are buying tickets and are along for the ride. I don't believe that this tour is only happening because A3 isn't ready; it's because they're striking while the iron is hot, so to speak.

I never thought much about it, but you're right. Queen were super serious when performing, particularly early on, and lightened up a bit later on. I much prefer the Rainbow stuff circa 1974 to the later stuff any day of the week. As for Freddie, he is arguably the best frontman who ever lived, but Adam is an amazing artist and performer for a 21st Century audience. I agree: both can be true.

Well RL is kicking my ass and severely curtailing my Adam time but I'm lurking around here and there. I am not surprised when people don't like the idea of Queen with Adam (although that doesn't stop me from feeling defensive - hello #FLD). Even though change is the only true constant it is still hard for nearly everyone. That's one thing I do love about Adam - no chance to get too tied to one thing about him because sure as night follows day he will change it up on you.

hee.. I don't use that term and you're one of the luckiest fans who have the chances to see both the original Queen and QAL. I'm so jealous. Queen circa, I was in elementary and watched them on VSHs . Gosh I love Freddie, Brian and Roger .. not really into base playing yet.. so not really into John, not until I was in college.

Tbh im over the baggage that comes with Qal. Media and some fans well never get Qal is a seperate entity to Queen with Freddie. Qal gives Brian and Roger to be more outfront, seeing Freddie was such a dominant frontman. Its more looser and fun these days, times change. Same ppl who cant accept tv shows change. Social media is full of cynical ppl. They love Adam, as they are alive in their angst . But im looking forward to A3, whatever ppl think this has brought out an inner confidence that was missing. He just embraces his true talent partic on live tv. I've noticed he doesent get as nervous as he used to. He has learnt so much from Brian and Roger. Hes always felt like a multi platinum, selling arena artist. I hope A3 is the charm, I have no gripe towards others success Adams time well come. And it well earnt, imo he is the hardest working artist in the music industry.
