Well they sounded amazing but I thought they were in full on musical theatre mode. By the end I felt like asking if they wanted eggs with their ham lol! First time I've felt that with QAL so I'd have preferred it solo. Just IMO YMMV etc Slinks out quietly....... I agree...I can't help but giggle when I watch the dramatic posturing. Adam is theatrical but damn, the two of them together is almost ridiculous. (and takes away from the song, IMHO) Sorry guys...beautiful singing but it won't be up there on my list of fav performances.

I think Helene's show is kinda schmaltzy anyway. And WWTLF is theatrical, no matter how you cut it. So for that show and that experience, I thought it was really well-done. She looked thrilled.

It's not the performance of a lifetime show.. Adam is brilliant and that's all that counts in my book...If you watch other parts of the variety show, you will see what's popular to many in Germany, different than American or English taste in music.. at least for this particular show.." When in Rome......."

Heck, she rides a gigantic bird in the air. WWTLF was downright tame compared to some of the songs I saw. And Helene is huge in Germany and Europe. Win/win. I saw her duet with one dude and I was watching the clock tick it was so boring. Adam and Helene..not boring, whether one liked the theatrical nature of it or not. At least it had life to it. And everyone can feel how they wish, naturally..I respect that. I do feel QAL will get some terrific promo from this show. Positive promo. Sell them tickets.

Thought to myself, well they're certainly well matched in the dramatic emoting department. But I think that's what the audience wanted from them, so it's all good.

Her short life was a tragic train-wreck but I think she had the potential to be one of the really great artists. Her tone is so distinctive and her song-writing rang so true. Amy Winehouse My favourite is Love is a Losing Game but to be honest I like anything from the Back to Black album. Oh one of my favorite vocalists EVER. One of the greats. There are so many great videos posted today! Also Joni Mitchell is brilliant (on pages 4-5). One of The Voice contestants was given a Joni Mitchell song to cover and Blake Shelton did not know who she was. Pharrell and Adam seems pretty clueless too. Seems like she has been somewhat passed over by time and people under 45 years old do not know her.

Well, I admit that that performance was a bit over the top. But, to me, Adam was simply "mirroring" her style as he is wont to do when he is interacting with people. I think he was merely responding to her. (JMHO)
