But what about Warner/Chappell Music? www.warnerchappell.com/Maybe not the label but enough of a connection to confirm the clue. Totally confused now. Can anyone explain this Warner/Chappell company for me, please. They seem to represent a ton of artist that are on very different labels, i.e. Katy Perry (Capital), Green Day (WB), etc. www.warnerchappell.com/aboutThey are a music publisher. It reminds me a bit of Koehler, who do this publishing too, but when they are working for Adam, it's more in an administrative role. I don't think they were every involved with the music publishing side of things for Adam. So how does this work? If KP writes a song, it is published by these guys here (for songwriting credits), but then a label, that is under a different group (UMG) is the one that actually records and releases the music? Me needs help from our pros here..... It can be confusing -- there are songs and recordings. Publishers manage songs for songwriters (name is from the days of sheetmusic) and Record Labels for the recordings. Warner-Chappell is a publisher -- they manage the rights for songwriters. Warner Brother Records is a record label -- they product recorded music. Katy Perry's songs are managed by Warner-Chappell but her recordings are released by Capital part of Universal Music Group. Adam has a publishing deal with Kobalt Music Group. - www.kobaltmusic.com/page-news-detail.php?id=WN134#sthash.KEChUNad.dpufand it appear that he record label is Warner Music Group/ Warner Bros RecordsNow the confusing part -- Warner Music Group (WMG), AKA Warner Music, owns Warner Bros. Records, Parlophone Records and Atlantic Records. WMG also owns Warner/Chappell Music, one of the world's largest music-publishing companies. They are all operated separately. ETA: Updated to clarify.

Hope he doesn't cut it!!! Dr Bri is standing in front of stage curtains. Burgundy velvet stage curtains. He's waiting for the curtains to open. I have to believe this rather than the other possibility... that he's gonna chop his glorious hair!! I did not mean he would cut his hair -- I was referring to SOON!! That is an Adam word!!

I admit, all the labels, music groups and records... are pretty confusing to me sometimes. :D

If Warner Music Group is the umbrella corporation, wouldn't Adam's label be either Warner Bros. Records, Parlphone Records or Atlantic Records? We are assuming WBR correct? Warner Music Group With its broad roster of new stars and legendary artists, Warner Music Group is home to a collection of the best–known record labels in the music industry including Asylum, Atlantic, East West, Parlophone, Elektra, Fueled By Ramen, Nonesuch, Reprise, Rhino, Roadrunner, Rykodisc, Sire, Warner Bros., Warner Music Nashville, and Word, as well as Warner/Chappell Music, one of the world’s leading music publishers, with a catalog of more than one million copyrights worldwide. We are saying Adam is part of Warner Bros. Records because Adam is on their twitter list of "WBR Artists". People are saying he was just added to the list which is probably true but based on twitter's habit of ordering everything, including lists, with the most recent at the top, then this list was probably created at the same time because Adam is near the beginning (ie near the bottom) For those not familiar with twitter lists it is a way to segment twitter users into smaller manageable groups. You do not have to follow someone to put them into a list. You can make lists public so everyone can see or you can make them private so only you can see. Other people can follow your public lists and get the tweets from the people on the list without have to follow each person separately. If someone puts you on a public list then Twitter will send you an email letting you know. If they put you on a private list you will not be notified, and remember, they do not have to follow you to put you on a list. If you follow a lot of people, and perhaps some just out of politeness, you can use your lists to only look at what your list people are doing and ignore those you are being polite to. Twitter management software or websites like TweetDeck and HootSuite allow you to have multiple lists open and in view at the same time.

Thank you Q3. So you are kind of confirming my thoughts here, though. Outside the fact that I don't seem to know Koehler from Kobalt, I guess. So Adam will probably fall under the Warner Music Group (and twitter list seems to confirm that) overall, but we don't know yet, which label has signed him, and none of the three (Warner Brothers Records, Parlophone, or Atlantic Records) is an automatic given. Some here lean towards Warner Brother Records as the most natural candidate, but we don't know. Also, signing to any of these three, would not warrant all this year long secrecy that we have been seeing. My head still leans towards, there is some re-organization / new label creation going on, and Adam is one part of that. Hence all the secrecy, until everything is ready. I am still thinking this one is true, and the fact that Nile Rogers is also somewhat 'floating', makes me believe that he could be one major piece to that new puzzle (under WBG umbrella) as well. My mind starts spinning when Katy comes into the discussion or tweets, who record label wise has nothing to do with WB, she falls under the UMG umbrella, because both she, as well as her new label are under Capitol, which is part of UMG. So, you would think, that Katy just has nothing to do with Adam here, except, then we find out that her publishing rights are with Warner Chapell. WUT? So now, Katy is when it comes to songwriting credits rolling up under WBG, and when it comes to recording rights, under UMG. If Adam would do his publishing via Warner Chapell too, then Katy and he would share not only management, but also publishing company, but that is not the case. He is with Kobalt. Whatever this THIS IS IT really is, it better be good. What a mess this all is. Cannot even imagine the accounting going back and forth between all these companies for all these artists for every recording, every song, every performance, every request to use their music in commercials....on and on. How can this be anything but a completely un-auditable mess? Something, where everybody, even those with the best intentions cannot get it right, because it is way too convoluted. I have seen some complex business arrangements and joint ventures in my life, but never something even remotely like this music business. Anyways, thanks Q3 for sorting through this.

Sorry, yes, appears to be signed to Warner Brothers Records -- it was late last night when I typed this.

I think Adam is almost certainly signed to Warner Bros. Records -- one of the major divisions of Warner Music Group. Not announced but he is on the WBR official Twitter Artists List. And WBR is now following Adam's Twitter account. Why this was not revealed sooner since he had a deal in Dec 2013 or early Jan 2014, we do not know. I do not believe that Nile is involved with Adam's label but I expect he might have a collaboration on Adam's album.

hmm, thanks. The artist list is indeed WBR, not WMG. Thought the Atlantic folks were in that list too, but they are not. So WBR umbrella it is, I suppose.
And for the rest: anyone's guess, what is going on that has to be so secret. Above is just an opinion/guess at this point, at least for me.
