Happy new year everyone. Thank you Q3 and the mods yet again for this place where we can all come together from across the world.
And thank you to the people who commit to doing wonderful things here everyday - Betty I'm looking at you, and others who bring us the news and so many goodies - adamrocks - you are amazing - seoulmate - you are a beautiful soul who never fails to brighten my day!!
And to everyone here who makes flailing so much fun. My two favourite times are seeing Adam live and flailing in a concert thread. And to people who are quieter or more poetic or more reflective in their tastes and the way they celebrate Adam - they may not be as obvious, but I certainly feel your presence here. I enjoy it all and appreciate it all. It is your valuable time and love in so many forms that you share.
For Adam, I think it is the start of yet another miraculous year. I only just read Adam's tweet from yesterday where he acknowledges his gratitude for the path and those who love him walking it. It tells me many things, but particularly that he is grateful for what is and that he is very present in life as it is and not how it could, or should be, or might have been.
I think he sees the miracle of his life. For whatever reason, life is capricious. If we make the premise that we are alive, in part, to grow and learn and evolve, then it is not only unrealistic, but also undesirable that life is 'easy' only, that we accomplish what we think we deserve without challenges, trials or setbacks. I believe that we learn equally valuable lessons from love and accomplishment as we do from pain and adversity and all states in between, including the art of waiting for the right time.
Seen this way, as the rhythm of life, I think every year has been miraculous for Adam, looked at purely on it's own terms, without expectation or judgement. When you take those two saboteurs away, the motion of his life has always been forward, enhancing, growing, refining, exonerating, discovery, building on what he has accomplished previously. He has stumbled but never regressed, he has pushed through fear and now put himself in the position of being judged against the best. Why not - he offers his best; he has worked to be his best; he IS BLESSED with an extraordinary talent, which he has never squandered.
And he is appreciative and grateful for it all - not diminished by any perspective that it has never been good enough. His eyes appear fixed on the journey itself. It is this humanity that he has always acknowledged, that we share with him, that he shares with us, that we each have experienced along with him, that we know along with him and the graceful way that he has conducted himself through it all that I believe is part of the bond we feel, apart from his unparalleled talent. As far as I can see, not once has he ever made himself either lesser or greater than any other human being (with either false pride or false humility) - he discounts his talent in the equation - and this action alone, of steadfastly maintaining that primal connection to others makes him more beautiful in my eyes. The vain and narcissistic are very quick to HeWhoCannot amedet their differences, while Adam is ..... almost uniquely quiet.... finding the point of connection and sameness.
Which is not to say that he is not ambitious or doesn't have goals. He is not a drifter. He is extremely dedicated and determined. But at some point he seems to understand there is a point of letting go, when he is no longer in control of the outcome. His 'wham 2015' comment says to me that he has done his part - it is the best he can offer - it is a slam/dunk from his side of the equation.
Like attracts like and there will always be those souls who see him clearly and who are compelled by their own greatness to promote what is extraordinary in others. Sometimes this is aspirational, not fully formed in ourselves, but we are attracted to it nonetheless. But also, there enters Brian and Roger, fully realised performers and artists. I love these two men for the greatness of their own accomplishments and for insisting that the world needs to see Adam and experience what he has to offer. They also simply love him.
I also love the fact that Adam acknowledges that he is not for everyone. He is intense. He is not a dumbed-down performing seal on whom we can simply project our fantasies. He is intense. He also projects himself into you because he wants that connection and exchange, and some recoil from the experience (aside from any sonic preferences). It is not for them. Other performers have been like that, where you either love or hate them for that very reason. I am extremely happy and grateful that I loooove it . I am so very happy that I also get to share it with everyone here as well.

2014 has been a year of such blessings. I'm truly grateful to the universe for keeping on this path and for my fans for celebrating it with me! 2015: wham.
