Betty, your cakes are beautiful! Thanks for the birthday wishes! My day and whole weekend will be all Adam all the time. The Bama girls (justwishin & bamafan) are on the way to Atlanta and mayumi is already here. The three of them will stay with me for the weekend. Tomorrow we'll be joined by maitospf, smokeyvera, cassie and Misha. Hopefully, there will be a livestream we can enjoy together!

Re: flamboyant (don't really like that word) celebs. Adam is certainly in good company. Well, maybe not Liberace, although he is certainly memorable. But a lot of brilliance in that group! The sheer talent on that list is remarkable. And I'll include Liberace. Nureyev is the only one I have seen live other than Adam, and his talent literally radiated off the stage. I saw him when he was young, I saw him mid-life, and I saw him when he was older and he never, ever lost it. My first gay crush and still holds a very special place in my heart. Good company indeed. My babysitter (the one who babysat me!) had a huge crush on Liberace. If his weekly show was on when she babysat, we watched. Like the others on the list he had a presence. Was a terrific pianist and could make fun of himself. Example: "I'm not a great dancer, but I've got guts!"

I wouldn't put Bowie on the list either. His name draws attention and hits, to hell with the facts. Seems like they were only interested having BIG names on that list. Not so sure RuPaul is in the same league, but nice to see Adam there.

After QAL, I've come to the point where I loathe the adjective "flamboyant." It seems like it's become code speak for "gayer than this writer/reviewer can handle."
Now the original definition is something I can get on board with:
"1.(of a person or their behavior) tending to attract attention because of their exuberance, confidence, and stylishness. "a flamboyant display of aerobatics" synonyms: exuberant, confident, lively, animated, vibrant, vivacious "her flamboyant personality."
