Dimebag Darrell 42.46% (17,412 votes) Brian May 57.54% (23,597 votes) So I went to vote for the first time and watched the videos and if all I had to go by was the videos on that site I would be voting for Dimebag Darrell. But I guess anyone voting is already a Brian May or Dimebag Darrell fan so it really doesn't matter. I don't vote at all because I'm fan of both of them.

Kris was actually on twice the season after he won but once was to sing a cover song. Adam is the only one who has been back EVERY season after his run, the first to mentor, the first to judge. Others have been back more than once after their years but Adam is the only one who has been back consistently since his exit. Is it weird that this makes me proud?? ???? and i think it is also sweet and humble to come back to the show that gave him the liftstart. First to sing with a finalist at a finale too, right? Along with JHud that year?

I was listening to "titanium" the song Adam did with Angie on American Idol and i was wondering the following. Adam has been back to AI for sverla times, to sing with finalist, sing his own song, judge or help and i was wondering if other former American Idol singers come back that often is next seasons. did Kris Allen did this many idol things in next season? As i am from Holland, i havent seen the AI seasons, somcan someone tell me? i guess Adam is the biggest artist at teh moment coming from AI (and Kelly clarkson) and Afam didnt even win! I don't know how many Idols return to perform, etc. Actually, I don't think I'd include Adam as the biggest besides Kelly Clarkson. I think it is generally accepted that Kelly and Carrie Underwood (a country music singer) are the biggest by far. You may not be aware of Carrie because country is sort of an American thing. Of course, how does one decide what "biggest" means? If I look up the top 10 selling American Idol stars, Adam is not on the list. And some people who are listed had one or two albums that sold well in the early 2000's when albums were still selling. So to say that Ruben Stoddard and even David Archueletta and David Cook (who are on the list) are bigger than Adam is questionable. A lot of people would probably say that Adam drifted away the same as the David's because he hasn't really had radio play since 2010. I don't know how to judge his current popularity because I'm in the thick of fandom, but I don't thick the average American is really all that aware of him. They might know who he is because of the big splash he made on his year of AI. He was ALL over the media then.

Maybe in your town or acquaintances, but the Google searches alone that Adam gets show he is not forgotten, by a longshot. And QAL has been a win/win as far raising his profile. The fact that mireille barely knows who Carrie is, shows that big in the US does not necessarily mean known worldwide. IMO, Adam is not only well known, but even a part of Pop culture. Look at his name popping up in the weirdest places! An LSU Basketball article, text books, etc.!

You are right that big in America isnt the same as big in the World. i only know Carrie Underwood cause i follow many US Entertainment blogs, but in Holland and Euorpe in general she is as unknown as a dutch singer in the Usa.
You can see the general assumption that big in the Usa = big in Europe when you look at ghe nomintations of the EMA's, the european MTV awards. Tou often see that singers or bands that are big in Europe aren't nominated (like Robbie Williams) and songs or singers are nomintaed who have a big hit in Usa, but arent played that much in Europe, it is just the name.
I think that Adam Lambert has been more known because of the QAL tour. In Holland you didn't hear much of him after Whatya want from me. But he did a gig in Paradiso Amsterdamm, so that is great, but it is not a big venue, its 1200 people max. My bet if he tours Holland again is that he can fill the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam, with max. 5500 prople. But if the single is a big hit, which i hope! I think it will be Ahoy Rotterdam with max 12500 people. Queen did Ziggo dome Amsterdam with max 15000 i think (to compare Ariane Grande with one hit does two times the ziggo dome......)

NICA, thanks for bringing over the links to badassalterego's blog. Like our own Aleks, she has a gift with words. I love that she shares her views from a Queen's fan perspective and gets the joy in performance these men share.
I liked the explanation of relative pitch. Instinctively, I know Brian and Adam share their individual gifts with the riffing, and instinctively many of us here have expressed a wide-eyed wonder at the blend of guitar and voice. It is great to have others confirm my instincts about the rarity of these talents.
