Yes, BB 200 is using the new method. That's why I was emphasizing how important the streaming is.
The other "chart" is a sales chart & comes out before BB adds in the streams and track sales. However, I do not know if Soundscan and RIAA is using just DLs & physical sales or if they are using the new method also. But I am sure Q3 knows. OK, I just goggled some criteria for Gold & Platinum certification, so it looks to me like RIAA is still only using physical sales and DLs, not the streaming or track sale formulas! Q3! HELP!!

Just in case anyone was still confused about these numbers....... and the new duel sales charts. There are now two album sales charts..... one is simply actual sales numbers for that album. (Kelly's 80K # above) The other is the the sales + streaming chart. This chart combines album sales + TEA's and SEA's. (Kelly's 96K # above) TEA = Track Equivalent Album...... 10 sales of single tracks from the album will count as one album sale. SEA = Streaming Equivalent Album...... 1500 streams of single tracks from the album will count as one album sale. Hope that clears it up for some. Actually I have a few questions. And as it is a slow day, may I ask a few, please. Hope, I can help a few others along the way, too. I read the article www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/6320099/billboard-200-makeover-streams-digital-tracks1) Based on this article the BB200 has changed it's method. Where is the second chart, and which one is which? Based on the article, it is the BB200 that is using the new formula (album sales + TEA + SEA). Not seeing any other chart. What should I be looking for? 2) Album charts: If I google album charts, I get this: www.billboard.com/charts/billboard-200 The guy on top this week is - Big Sean, followed by Kid Rock. What chart are you looking at to see Kelly Clarkson followed by FSOG? 3) I went back two weeks and even 3 weeks, given that KC released her album on Feb 27, but those charts were not indicating what you are writing either. So question remains, what chart are you looking at? 4) Switching from album charts to single charts for a moment: does anyone know how the percentage breakdown is between radio, streaming, and sales? ===Sorry, if all this is totally clear to everybody else, but I am not as familiar with these stats, and could use a bit of help. Thanks Sorry, I have only a few seconds and then I have to run, so I'll answer your "which chart" question and then get back to you later. It's the HDD chart and these are album sales for the week ending 03/08/15. hitsdailydouble.comHere are the top ten from each chart..... The past days my cd player played the Queen album A Day at the Races and I am just in love with the song "You Take My Breath Away". Don't you think it would be amazing if Adam would sing this song at a concert? I bet he will make a beautiful version of it. It is quite high to sing and it is a small song, so i am wondering what he would make of it.
Check out this amazing live version of Queen

Yesterday's discussion continued, after I had left and changed direction and tone a bit, and I just wanted to bring it a bit back on track or return it back to where I intended to go with it, before it veered off in a different direction. My intent was never to blame, nor to hate, neither the media, nor Adam or anyone else, especially for something as pleasant as a few nice pics. That was the off-kilter part. If anything, it was a lament on the fact that this image-keeping is required to stay in the game. If anything, I was calling out society for being superficial, and ultimately it is a question for anyone individually too, myself included, but I was not intending to blame, just observe. Adam is so close to my heart that I know a lot more and as I am already a fan, I am not going to change my opinion, based on some fitness-training-induced pictures. But for somebody else, who I might only follow casually? Human nature values good looks. The business is image-oriented, and generally does not dig any deeper. It is what it is. Media react to what people want, artist react to what people want. Adam has changed his image tons of time, and certainly with every album cycle. Fitness-Adam is just as much one public persona, as is Glam-Adam or any other persona he puts forward. As long as he does not do anything unhealthy, all is well. It was surprising, how strongly he jumped onto this fitness band-wagon, promoting that side of him, but that is Adam. Always something surprising in the works. And we will see, whether he will continue that theme going forward, or just use it temporarily in the interim, until the single drops. I find it positive that Adam creates talking points for himself other than the usual suspects. That is only valuable in the interview setting, and the next promo cycle is ahead of him. So, there is no complaint, but sure, I wish the world would dig a little deeper and not just see the superficial stuff. ================= And lol for getting chewed out for using the word semi-nude. Before writing that, I had read about 20 posts (twitter, here, online posts), calling him 'naked' in the gym picture, and I thought, well that is strange way to describe that pic. So, I put 'semi-' in front of it in my post, and sure enough, that expression was the one people took offense to...not the nakkid ones. ....ok, I know that English is a difficult language, but really? Alright then, the natives have spoken, 'naked' it is, when somebody is actually wearing gym pants.

Big DJ z100 I think NY. Big market base!!! He has been an Adam supporter forever. Played Adam's tunes. I thought he was at Q102 Philly but either way he's been an Adam supporter. I think he went to school with Adam in San Diego. twitter.com/maxwellshouse Maxwell on Z100 @maxwellshouse I'm that guy talkin' on the LEGENDARY Z100...Listen, it'll make you cooler. Out of the area? iheartradio.com will fix that. New York, Z100.com
He's with Z100 in NY which is the biggest Top 40 station in the US. However, I hear him on my local Philly Q102 (also a pretty big Top 40 station) because his show is syndicated to many radio stations.

Ah, thank you, pattihum.. and thank you geezlouise for explaining that you are looking at HDD data....which I tbh know nothing about. I had no idea, those counted as 'charts', I always thought they were forecasting info..little do I seem to know. What I do remember though is: RIAA uses separately forwarded accounting data, coming from the labels themselves, and relies on shipment info, not sales info. So, that is really a completely different information stream, and I wish they would actually get with the times, one of these days. They are a bit like the catholic church creating an ATM machine in latin or something. But anyhow, RIAA is on its own separate planet. And soundscan is, as best I know, a data feed from the POS systems that retailers use, so more a method to get to the sales data electronically, rather than a chart itself.

Is my math thinking correct? If 1,500 singles streamed equals one album than 1,500,000 streamed would equal 1,000 albums. That seems like a mighty slow slog.

But previously streams and track sales were not counted at all. So this is definitely a step in right direction for judging popularity of a song.
