Actually before you write anything more about her works I strongly recomend to go on her website. She is an ilustrator and concept designer and her art are no copies. LOL thanks for the advice but I beat you to that, long before I jumped into the conversation I went and looked at her work which is how I know she has multiple paintings of Disney characters on her site. She is an illustrator who uses other people's ideas/images and recreates them, almost exactly as the original version. This is a common practice between ilustrators using known characters and drawing them in your own style. She is doing that. Part of them are for learning purposes. This is not copying. Sorry, but IMO you are not doing Adam any favor trying to call her a copy cat.

No, it is definitely her own digital art work. FWIW, I also have permission from the artist for my pseudo-black swan avi. It's my son's art just to give him credit, lol. I'm not questioning whether it is her own digital artwork. I am asking whether she copied the idea for her artwork from a photograph or another drawing. Most artist will copy from real life or another image. I seriously doubt that she did her drawing while physically sitting in a ghost town. I, also, doubt that she used her own photograph on which to base her digital drawing. It is reasonable to assume she got her idea for the ghost town from someone else's photograph or drawing. As I understand it, her digital art was made for a class and if she copied it from a photo or another drawing, it's ok for classwork. However, she has to own the right to the original image or it has to be sufficiently different in order to claim a copyright for her digital drawing. I'm just saying she should be very careful about claiming a copyright to the digital drawing. Sorry, but there is no word abut using any reference. Not to mention that a lot of people don't use reference for speed painting - they are just starting with colors and base shapes.

I mean.... shoshanna stone@shoshannastone @orallen567 @annierouge @xxmisswendyxx because a campaigns has to unfold to be successful. Plenty going on this week To introduce an additional subject - are there any speculations as to the plenty that will go on this week? - My only speculation is that when Shosh wrote "this week" she actually meant "next week"... I guess we can expect a few articles, someone has already said she was going to write on Monday, but do you think anything will happen apart from that? This will be THE week. We will get some online preview articles. More radio tweets. And I think finally get to hear "Ghost Town" at the end of the week. THEN next week on 4/21/15 at Midnight Eastern get to finally buy new music by Adam Lambert.

Watching idol for first time since haley r. Love Jax - yes she's exiberant but I think she's only 18 - and so fearless. I would very much enjoy a Jax Adam duet but what I really want is a taped chat btw Adam and Quentin - looove quentin's singing/vibe but also bowled over by his fashion and styling. Combo of designer pieces and his own closet. i think they would be fun together

So, people still think that Google is a source of free art to use as they want and I see that part of the fandom is telling on Twitter that this is not big deal. Disapointing. Now imagine if someone use Adam's music without credit. If someone had used her work and then sold it as their own I could see the hoopla but that isn't what is happening here. it is fan art, which Adam saw and liked and I am sure he will comment accordingly...or he will take it down and any exposure she may have gained by him using it will be gone. That is called cutting your nose off to spite your face where I come from. If artists don't want their images used by random people they should only store it on locked sites where access is granted to registered members for a fee. The ghost town illustration was posted on the illustrator's site with a clear copyright statement and Google images has it labeled at copyrighted. While I do not think anyone intended to breach a copyright, the illustrator (Jessa Sininger) did everything correctly to protect her work. There were two errors here both unintended: 1. The modification and use of the illustration by a fan without permission or credit to the original source. (There is no "commercial use" requirement for breaching a copyright. So the idea that because it was not for sale matters is moot.) 2. Adam's use of the image on his Twitter account to promote a song (commercial use). It seems likely he thought it was something a fan created completely. I think it is great that artists (visual and audio) are willing to share their work online. But it is really important to credit people and to NOT breach copyrights. Hopefully, Adam will remove it from his Twitter account as soon as he becomes aware of the issue OR make provisions for use of the image.
