Q3, or anyone. Why is there such a long delay between the single and the album? Why would they not want to release the album soon after the single. It makes no sense to me, but I assume there is a reason. As I've learned in the past 6 years the "gap" is for building the awareness and interest by releasing one or more singles to the radio. As we see they are promoting the album in parallel to the single, with the main emphasis on the album it seems. Now I learned that UK has a totally different strategy and they release a single only about 1 week prior to the album drop.

This is a great interview and fairly long. Lots of Adam in teasing voice etc. The interviewer is the main Billboard writer who writes about Adam but has never met him before. Insight into his time in Sweeden etc. Hope it gets comments.

Seems like Ellen got some deal where she is the FIRST one on TV to have Adam. I can't imagine a scenario where Adam would bypass introducing the song, either by performing or by playing the studio version at the very least. IMO Adam will sing GT on Idol. Why would he not take the whatever advantage that platform presents? The only thing I am certain is that it will not be a TV premier performance. Billboard appears to be solidly on board IMO. Quite a bit of coverage from them, so the awards appearance also looks like a possibility to me. What is the SNL picture? Have they announced all their guests for the year? I am still hoping... and then Kimmel, Letterman, Fallon, etc... a few morning ones would be good too! I think the SNL is for the radio program with Romeo. If he plays GT once the spins counted as double or more that regular radio play.

ADAM LAMBERT RECRUITS BRIAN MAY FOR FORTHCOMING ALBUM The pair are set to continue working together
Adam Lambert has recruited the legendary Queen guitarist Brian May to feature on a track from Lambert's forthcoming album The Original High. Acccording to Noise11 Ferry is set to appear on the track 'Lucy' on Lambert's hugely anticipated new LP. Lambert was recruited by the remaining Queen members to embark on a worldwide tour in 2012 to perform the classics. Upon landing the 'dream job' Lambert was adament he wasn't there to 'replace' iconic frontman Freddie Mercury. "There's never going to be another. I'm trying to keep the memory alive, and remind people how amazing he was, without imitating him." The pair are clearly fond of each other and are continuing to work together after a string of live arena dates around the UK in January 2015. Guitartist Brian May praised Lambert as "a gift from God." Going on to explain "Adam is the first person we've encountered who can do all the Queen catalogue without blinking." Not Q3, but I think the reason why there's such a long delay between the single and the album's, they want to make wave with the single first, build market interest on the single so when the album's drop they're hoping these people who buy the single will also purchase the album.

Albums, in the US, are never released right after or with the single. Singles need time to create buzz, so casual fans will want to buy the album. Hence 6-8 weeks on radio first & often a 2nd single right before the album too.

It makes no sense to me, but I assume there is a reason. They will probably release a second single, my bet is TOH, before the album plus some teaser track. That is the best way to sell a lot of albums in the US, Canada, AU and NZ.
