Yup, falsetto. You probably want to skip the rest of this post. I love Adam, but, I am not a happy cassie at the moment. I hate Max Martin! He persuaded Adam to abandon his one in a billion, other-worldly, impeccable head voice in favor of falsetto. It is like leaving the Ferrari in the garage, and puttering down the street on a moped. Adam's unique claim to fame is his amazing, powerful, rich, resonant, pure, full voice. Falsetto, by its nature, has none of those things.
I don't know what to say. I better just go play Save Me and WWTLF a dozen times to clean out my brain before I start plotting an assassination. Well maybe that's only a small sample of the song, and the rest won't be in falsetto.. not my fave either. Goodness, don't go all crazy over a twenty second snippet recorded on someone's cell phone. We have had other song snippets that sounded rough before and they turned out to wonderful songs. Trust ADAM!

Wow, those Kelly Clarkson figures look poor even allowing for today's tough market - is there a consensus in the industry as to what went wrong? Did the album review badly for instance? It is not really notable in the current market -- although a bit surprising to me. Within the Idol online bubble there were a few surprised people. This total would have been notable in 2012 or 2013 but not now. The critical consensus was it was an OK album 63 on Mediacritic www.metacritic.com/music/piece-by-piece/kelly-clarksonMany critics and fans said it had too many mid-tempo ballads on it. No, this is the market -- not this specific album. Thanks

Q3 who would be invited to this kind of event they had at the Box? Mostly press and media, some industry people, and a lot of people from Warner Music. And a few friends of the label. Anyone that WMG Promo teams think is important to get an advance on the music. Not fans unless the fan happens to cover music for some outlet that has a big audience.

I'm sure the recorded version will sound much different as he was straining for some of the notes in this live rendition. Pearl clutching comes from Adam saying that the team had talked him into doing a WHOLE song falsetto. If this is it? And this is a song he really wants us to hear......I hope or maybe I don't hope we get it early.......... don't know. Some will love it and some, among them myself, will probably find the nearest sand pit to stick our head in.

Julie Gurovitsch, coordinating music producer for NBC's Today, is moving. Beginning next month, Gurovitsch will take the reins as lead music booker for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, filling a role previously held by Jonathan Cohen, who departed last month, according to multiple sources.

If the recorded version of TOH sounds like the vocal on that snippet, then it would not be the song that is being buzzed about as the next single. I recommend getting off the ledge and waiting until we hear it.
I certainly am not judging anything from 7 seconds of a phone recording of a live performance. Well except I love the beat. And it is upbeat.
