Comic Champion: Adam Lambert Serenades James Corden With Hilarious Queen Parody
By Lyndsey Parker
Unlike David Letterman, Late Late Show host James Corden didn’t have to wait three decades to get the tribute treatment. On Thursday night, on a very special episode sardonically hashtagged #ThanksJames50, Corden celebrated his 50th show with a very special version of “We Are the Champions,“ crooned by none other than current Queen frontman Adam Lambert.
Back in his American Idol days, Lambert was known for “making a song his own,” and he definitely did that Thursday night, switching up the Queen anthem’s lyrics to be entirely Corden-centric. "He’s paid his dues / Done 50 shows / How he survived it / God only knows / And bad mistakes / He’s made a few / Rolling the title cards five minutes in / What a dumb thing to do,” he sang. “He is James Corden, my friends / And he’ll host Late Late Show till the end!”
Corden later joined Lambert for a final cut-to-commercial chorus, and while this duet wasn’t quite as epic as when Lambert belted the song with Kris Allen (and Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor) on the American Idol Season 8 finale back in 2009, it still made for some awesome TV. And the fact that comic champion Reggie Watts, who leads the Late Late Show house band, joined in made this even more celebratory.
So when does Adam Lambert get to do “Carpool Karaoke,” huh?

This was fun because the adjectives used to describe Adam were "Queen singer" and "frontman", NOT "American Idol star" or "gay singer". " the Queen singer still showed up to give a hilarious, tongue-in-cheek tribute for the milestone. After Corden struggled to put his feelings into words, the frontman - who has impressed during countless live performances with Brian May and Roger Taylor - appeared to give a special rendition of We Are The Champions."

Hi, it’s me again with a question/request! I would love to have a copy of the Metrosource Magazine with Adam. Does anybody know if I can also order it from Germany or did anyone here at Atop from Germany or some other European country already order the mag and could confirm, that they also ship the mag to Europe? (I ask because ... when I look at their page where you can subscribe to the magazine, it seems that they only ship to US-states?!) Or, may I ask if one of the US-Atoppers has a spare copy or could get another one without any problems and send it to me? Of course I would pay for the mag and the postage or I could send you a copy of the new German GQ-magazine with a short Adam-interview in it in return! Thanks in advance!

IKR That popped right out at me too! And my DH who was very impressed with how the conversation has changed. Countless live performances! LOL

Adam Lambert re-jigs the lyrics of Queen’s ‘We
BY NEWSMEDIAON JULY 17, 2015'
It seems like just yesteday James Corden was late night’s new kid on the block, but last night he celebrated his 50th episode of The Late Late Show. Well, you’d likely do what anyone would do: Call up Adam Lambert and have him serenade you with a Queen classic catered especially to you. Adam Lambert found a unique – and hilarious – way to mark James Corden’s 50th edition of The Late Late Show this week, adapting one of Queen’s signature songs to pay tribute to the presenter! “He’s paid his dues, done 50 shows / How he survived it?” There’s apparently a thin line between a hokey, tongue-in-cheek gag and an unforgettable, face-melting rock performance – and that line is Adam Lambert.Adam essentially parodies the song, rewriting all of the lyrics to fit the narrative of Corden’s show as it reached episode 50. Ooh, I DO love that quote!! (And as anyone knows who has had the ultimate pleasure of seeing Adam fronting Queen knows, he is incapable of delivering anything BUT unforgettable, face-melting rock performances!)
