IKR? Things HAVE really changed in the last 6 years! also, is this a Hilton promo gig? ($$$$s ?) He has been referencing Elvis at the oddest times lately....and he never did until lately...I am beginning to think the film rumours just may be based in some level of reality....hmmmmm..... I think it is more likely that Brian and Roger drawing a link between Adam and Elvis has gotten Adam thinking about Elvis a bit more. Brian has described Adam as "the new Elvis", while Roger said he thinks of Adam as "almost a camp Elvis". Maybe that made Adam curious to find out more about Elvis. With Adam's schedule, I'm not sure when he would have time to film a movie in the near future. Also, Adam's voice doesn't sound Elvis's. So he would either have to agree to lipsynch the songs (hard to imagine), or the filmmakers would need to be okay with an Elvis who doesn't sound like Elvis. Not sure either would fly.

Adam is the most Zen (let it go) person I don't know. No kidding!! "You're a better man than I am, Gunga Din" They buried that hatchet years ago and hopefully fans will let it stay buried. Adam liked an instagram posting a few days back, I didn't capture it but to paraphrase: "The hardest thing in life is to learn which bridges to burn and which to cross"
I think he has this figured out.

Feelalive asked me for some information about hotels, etc. in Long Beach re: the WSOBV event in August. I wasn't sure where to post this, so I'm dropping it here. Mods, sorry if I've posted this in the wrong place. I didn't see a thread for this event in the members only section. Re: flights, LAX and John Wayne/Orange County airports are both about 20 miles from Long Beach, so you can pick either one, depending on flight availability and cost. Long Beach also has an airport, but it is small and has limited flights, but might be worth checking out, depending on where you are flying from. There are a number of hotels in downtown Long Beach near the beach volleyball venue (it's usually on the beach near the intersection of Ocean Blvd. and Shoreline Drive). These are all walking distance to the venue: - More upscale: Hyatt Regency, Westin, Renaissance - Mid-range: Best Western Plus, Rodeway Inn, Courtyard Long Beach Here is a map of the area with hotel information: www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=hotels+in+long+beach+ca&rflfq=1&tbm=lclYou can also stay on the Queen Mary, which is an historic Cunard cruise ship anchored in the Port of Long Beach. It operates as a hotel and historic attraction. You can take a water taxi from the Queen Mary to Shoreline Village (see the map link -- Shoreline Village is east of the intersection of Shoreline Drive and Pine Avenue right on the water); otherwise you will have to drive to the venue and parking will likely be tight. If you want to be close to the Long Beach Aquarium (worth a visit -- it's off Shoreline Drive west of Pine) and the shop/restaurant complex along Shoreline Drive, the Hyatt Regency is the most convenient. It also has great views on the ocean side of the hotel. Another link with info about Long Beach (and some nice photos): www.visitlongbeach.com/visitors/maps/(The photo on the link page shows the area near the beach volleyball site -- the Aquarium, Shoreline Village, downtown marina and Shoreline Park). Please let me know if I can help to answer any questions about Long Beach.

Strangest thing just happened. And all my training as an Adam fan just paid off! Last night I watched a Showtime special about Elvis Costello. I am a big fan but have not seen him live for years. I said to my husband that I would love to see him in concert and to let me know if he ever has a concert near us -- Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Columbus area. About 30 minutes ago, he told me that he just saw that Elvis Costello is playing tonight at Blossom Music Center -- which is the amazing amphitheater 15 minutes from our home. He said, too bad because it is sold out and we can't get tickets. But, being an Adam fan, I know it is always possible to get tickets. I immediately search the three best broker site, found 5th row center seat for a reasonable price, and we are off to see Elvis Costello in a couple of hours!! I have used broker sites pre-Adam but I was never so expert, so fast and I certainly did not have accounts on all the major sites!
