I am thrilled that Adam has so many dates in Japan. The economics of Japan and the venue structure make it advantageous to play smaller venues and sell out.
I hope this tour ends up with venue similar to GNT and sells out.
Adam as a solo artist is not at a point that he can sell out arenas -- forget about stadiums.

I think that Adam would like to be an arena artist, and therefore, a part of me wants that for him. But selfishly, I want him to play 2000 seat concert halls, where I can experience him in person, not on a jumbotron TV screen. FOR ME, I would be thrilled if he would play Symphony Hall again in Atlanta. Pleeeez, make it happen.

I am not 100% sure but I think this is new - charming 10 mins of Adam! Nothing new, but at about 8 mins mark he talks about AWARDS - interesting in light of today's discussion. What a graceful diplomatic answer to the question re ESKA's importance for him. (Subtitled - we are lucky with this one!)

Adam will continue to build his live audience draw regardless of what happens with radio and the charts. He has already established that he can draw live audiences. I have no doubt that he will always be able to tour the only question will be venue sizes.
IMHO and going by what Adam has said the decision not to tour Trespassing in the US wasn't that he COULDN'T but more that he would not have been able to do the kind of tour he wanted to AND since we now know that he was being asked to consider the covers album, he knew it was possible he would be leaving the label and it did not make good business sense to tour and promote an album that the label was not supporting. What did make good business sense was dipping his toes in other waters, like the GLEE acting slot and then the Queen tour which gave him the financial support to take his time to figure out where he wanted to go musically and to find a new label home.
Artist can build solid touring audiences best by being smart about venue sizes. Always playing venues that you KNOW you can sell out or close to it building a reputation for being the hard to get ticket. Always slightly underserving demand builds demand higher. U2 built their career on live touring. Hits came MUCH later. They didn't have a Hot 100 song in the US until their 4th album, but they toured consistently starting with the first album. They built a reputation for always putting on an amazing live show. By the time the hits came they were already graduating to arenas and the hits vaulted them in to stadiums.
Adam's reputation for always blowing away the live audience will continue to increase and as long as they are smart about booking his rep with promoters will continue to build.

But its all perspective. ....... Getting into the very top by singing repetitive auto-tuned lyrics that are aimed at a target demographic, generating hits by a prurient audience for bad behavior etc. etc. wears thin and in the long run, there will be no lasting fame or glory. Adam will be iconic whether in this venue or another without compromising his inner and outer light. Absolutely. And thank you for saying that. Adam touches hearts and souls of any age, orientation or gender, one at a time, and they are coming by the 100-thousands right now, to watch his video or stream his song. New people - not the old Glambert fan base from the past years. It is happening! His career is a healthy and steady one, and he will become the world wide star that you are craving him to be, in his own, unique ride to the top. Just wait and see....it will happen. And meanwhile buy a vinyl, or call your radio station, or run your many streams, or whatever floats your personal boat. He is on his own trajectory, I am not worried at all.

Ah, Adam is so sweet at the end with the interviewer (who knows about Adam, I guess she is a fan?) And what I always admire about Adam is that he says his answers as it is the first time being asked the question: he doesn't get tired of some questions and he knows that every interview is new and for that interviewer it is a new question.
