Csimms4 - Good idea. Maybe some Tuscan Leather in my future. I still puzzle the last 6 years. Nothing really impresses me anymore. I feel like I have seen, heard, and done everything in life. However, six years ago a singer sauntered into my life and it hasn't been the same since. I feel like Brian May when he says "I wasn't looking for a singer, but there he was a GFG."

For now no one is sure what it is but, he was wearing something different in each photo so it would seem to be some kind of shoot. There is a great Adam mention in this article (there should be a ton of these leading up to AI's final season starting in January) www.indyweek.com/indyweek/american-idol-and-its-great-colony-of-semi-stars-like-david-cook/Content?oid=4879976"The biggest winners and finalists have transcended Idol and become pop stars: the girl-next-door Kelly Clarkson, the glamorous yet spiky Carrie Underwood, the chameleonic Adam Lambert, the stoic Daughtry, the feisty Fantasia." I was just trying to not jump to a conclusion for a change. I decided to read the article, which is about Idol winner David Cook. How does this relate to Adam? Cook has a cover of Wicked Games. Is this song making a comeback? I like it--very different cover.

Re. Picture gate. I guess I happened upon two on Twitter showing his torso. He's very self-conscious about his midsection, which is why even when there is a "shirtless" photo, like the seadoo ones, he has something around it, in that case a life preserver. People are so body-conscious in LA, and sadly becoming increasingly so everywhere because of computers. Watching my daughter as a teenager navigate this makes me sooo happy that internet/cell phones weren't around when I was a teen! The only outrage were models in magazines projecting unattainable images. I even remember a very early article (San Diego newspaper, perhaps?) during or after Idol where a group of opera singers judged his voice and one questioned his viability as a pop star because he was "thick in the hip area"! That was utterly ridiculous! And an opera singer yet! He was supposed to me commenting on the voice. Anyway, I'm not sure what the contro is, having not seen the pictures, but Adam is one of the most photogenic people on the planet. It cracks me up how there are thousands and almost all are inadvertently good, not even the professional ones. ETA: saw pix in Members Only. Scandalous! Lol. And to think entire careers have been built on intentionally "leaked" sex tapes. It's interesting that you say this about Adam's "body image"---but with all the insane scrutiny about every part of his physical being, especially being in the public eye, how can he NOT be so consumed by all the critical comments? I remember shortly after Adam was on Idol, he donated his outfit {the one he wore on the finale when he was singing BETH,} to the Hard Rock Cafe here in San Diego. It was on display for a few years in the Rock N Roll hall where other classic stars have photos etc. My daughter and I went downtown to see it one day and I remember staring at it behind the glass window for quite some time,{Well, actually till my daughter couldn't take my need to gaze at it any longer, and pulled me away !} I was astounded at how small the outfit was--I mean, really small---and found myself wondering why so many folks were calling him "fat" when he was on the show ! I don't care how much he weighed when he was on American Idol--all I can say is that I saw that outfit, and I know there isn't any way a fat person could have gotten into it, much less sing that beautiful song embellished with sparkles on that unforgettable night. I sure would hate to see Adam feeling negative about himself in any way and because of a distorted body image, start mutilating himself with excessive plastic surgery as others have done. He is beautiful to me, extraordinarily photogenic ,has a heart of gold and is a gift to the world as he shares his "Gift from God" voice.

Adam knows Oh Holy Night? The nice Jewish boy? I remember a radio interview several years ago where they wanted Adam to sing the next line from several Christmas songs. He politely said "I'm Jewish." They kept going anyway. He didn't know but one of the songs, sorta. At one point in response, Adam sang, "Dreidel, dreidel, dreidel."
I think he just saying that just to refuse the request to sing when he didn't feel like it. . Pretty sure he knows some Christmas songs. Bet they've been invited to some Christmas celebration from his father side of family.
I don't think this has anything to do with Adam knowing or not knowing certain songs either. The sense I got with that British interview from many years ago, that that radio DJ or interviewer or whatever he was, was kinda arrogant and socially and culturally pretty insensitive, and just not exactly treating Adam's feelings with respect, or caring for any of this, for that matter. Adam was a nobody on the British scene at that time, and this guy probably thought he got stuck with that interview, and it showed in his behavior. So Adam used his own resistance to make a point. He tried to create awareness that there were a few other cultures besides Christianity in the world, a point sorely missed on that guy at the time, from what I remember. In China, it is a totally different situation. You have no common language, you are dealing with cultural differences left and right, and you are trying to find bridges wherever you can, and if they bring up a Christmas song, for a Xmas show, then this is from the Chinese perspective stepping across the cultural boundaries to meet him. It's also good commerce, but that is besides the point. He is of course culturally trying the same, is therefore re-conciliatory in spirit, and so he is playing along. Different perspectives and goals, and I can fully understand that Adam's abilities to sing Christmas songs is fluctuating, and for that matter entirely dependent on how he evaluates the situation.
