Wal - are you going to make this one? There are times when Texas is just too darn big! And this is soooooooo far south! Googled this town & discovered the entire city's population is the same amount as the arena's capacity! LOL! Wal, are you this far south in TX?

Boy George was asked in many, many interviews but always gave joke answers early in his career. Same strategy as Freddie Mercury used. He was asked about it in 2011 -- and here is his response: Maybe the jokes went over the head of the Americans but it was very obvious here he was gay and not hiding it, it was the 80's, Frankie Goes to Hollywood and all that, things were quite overt and in your face whether people liked it or not...I loved Boy George, fell for him right away, and I knew he was gay even though I was only about 11! I thought it was fascinating that he was in a relationship with his drummer... Right Said Fred came out straight away - where are they now? No loss... We got the joke and no one was most people were not confused about Boy George in the US either. The 70's in the US was pretty much no one cares who you love and a few artists were out -- by 1972 most of the anti-sodomy laws in the US were gone. But there was a shift to a more conservative view in the 80's and 90's. First there was the rise of the religious right in the 80's. And then it was compounded in the 90's with the "don't ask, don't tell" liberal idea of sexual freedom. Thankfully it appears that later idea seems dated and ridiculous now. It all really changed in 2004 when the US Supreme Court struck down the last remaining anti-sodomy laws in 14 states including Texas.

After tomorrow, we can start on Christmas music!!! Howz about..'tis the season to bash artists..falalalalalalalala'...we could make a vid of us singing and send it to Adam to brighten his holidays. Is this a great idea or what?? What IS in the kool-aid this week? C'mon folks, lighten up. Please. My hollandaise sauce just curdled. You know how hard it is to make a smooth hollandaise..very temperamental. Kinda like Atop this week. And there has been good news too, so don't bag on me. Congrats to all who got tickets to QAL! I've had duct tape on my mouth for 3 days, so I'm grumpy. A little joy goes a long way. Hey, hey.. falalalalalal laaa ,yer richt viv ,as usual ,, but hell xmas music ,steady on girl .. in case ye hadna noticed its still november , !!! pet peeve , bashin ,o anyyin ,, none o, it is relevant to adams career ,, what will be will be ,, (is that a song title ?) frae oor national poet ,," tak a cup o kindness yet" ,,,"rabbie burns "

Patti, I am in San Antonio, it's about 4 some hours to McAllen. Went there once twenty some years ago for kid's swim meet. Really don't mind gong back there again, especially for Adam.

I agree! No Concert without Adam. And Queen is really taking advantage of the multiple success of QAL now by continuing having these concerts. DMG has an upper hand in here. Maybe at the beginning they paid him a bit more than his normal rates will all expenses paid. However with the success off the NA and world tours I'm pretty sure DMG went back to the table to negotiate the rates and then the SA tour. I won't be surprise if they pay him between net of expenses of 500k-1mill per show. I am a very generous person, when estimating, but this would be too much. It would mean no profit for the band. However, 250K per show is completely reasonable, IMO. $150-$250K per show seems directionally correct to me, plus percentages for VIP add ons, concessions, Adam merchandise and programs.

well, there are worse things that could happen. I see JB is struggling still with the personal side of his life, he just cancelled a TV and TG parade appearance. Interesting that he comments about being lonely, alone and how hard it is to be on the road all the time. He has grown up surrounded by hangers one, yes men, and people using him to make money; no real friends, no one looking out for him. Adam is fortunate even though he experiences the same loneliness and travel trials, he at least has friends that were friends before the fame, people he can count on to be a support network. I agree with everything you say here (including the "worse things could happen" part). I think Justin Beiber is talented, I know not everyone does. I like his last two songs - but I agree success at so young an age did not seem to serve him well, his dad seems very unlikeable to me, and I do not find Justin likeable personality-wise either right now. (Waaaay back I remember these tapes he made of himself "pranking" fast food workers, but really he was just being a jerk to them . . . ) But he is young and, I think, very, very immature for his age. I hope for him, though, to find himself, his better self. I remember that fist bump he and Adam shared at some Jingle fest long ago. That was cute. It must be remarkably weird to be Justin Beiber - all that fame, all that success, and yet . . . Everyone "hates" him, no one admits to liking him, yet he is always on the radio, always on the shows . . . it's hard to understand, to me. Justin has a few people watching out for him along the way -- including Usher and Selena Gomez. I also think he is really talented. And his new album is pretty good. I agree it much be hard to be Justin Bieber.

Far South it is, Hidalgo the city is fairly small, but the area is densely populated. Hidalgo County has 800,000 plus in population for example. Reynosa, directly across the river into Mexico has in excess of 500,000 in population.
