Recap time. Melbourne show #1 Ok back to the show. A couple of observations. Adams time with Queen have definitely been staging 101. The show is immaculate in timing and transitions between sections. If he didn't work with Queens lighting guy he was taking notes, because the lighting is spectacular, a whole thing all its own worth stopping to really appreciate. It lifts the sophistication of the show up and supports the mood Adam creates with the music beautifully. So envious...of those able to attend the shows! Thanks for the recap!!! Love recaps! Glad to hear all these positives about the show/production/dancers/musicians. (wonderful to leave a concert feeling elated) I have asked before but one has responded to my question. Hoping you might take a minute... As I view the videos of the concert I continue to wonder if Adam (in particular)and the dancers/crew seem to be in the dark a lot? Or is it the cameras dealing with the back lighting etc. and it is easier to visually see him on stage? Would a person not in the front rows and without side screens at the front still be able to see Adam performing...or more in hazy blue washes of light etc.? (Just in case I do go to a concert I want to go to a venue where I can arrange myself to actually see him!) Appreciate your perspective...thanks

(Just in case I do go to a concert I want to go to a venue where I can arrange myself to actually see him!) Appreciate your perspective...thanks Hi Stampsgal, I had a few different 'perspectives' in Japan. So my tup*&@^# worth..... My first show was The Tokyo Dome one where I had a row 7 seat on the floor, slightly to one side. Then I did 4 shows in smaller venues, which were GA and all between 5-10 feet from the stage. The final show, I had a seat in the front of the upper balcony, centrally opposite the stage. The lighting worked perfectly in all cases; wouldn't choose one above the others. Adam and the gang were all clearly visible - and if the band/dancers faded into the background at times, it was designed like that to suit the song. Adam at all times was beautifully lit - the whole thing was vividly coloured. This is such a colourful show and the lighting set pieces do compare to those of QAL....the only negative I can find to say is that in ALN I was blinded by the strobe lights a couple of times - but that was fleeting. No screens of course but I could see Adam very easily from the balcony. He wasn't in a blur of light at all.....he was defined clearly. BUT.....I can imagine what your worries are when watching the videos. Just as his voice doesn't always transfer to full effect in video - the visuals of this show don't always either. Some of it may be technical issues with cameras....but i've noticed that the colours and contrasts often don't reflect my impression of the live thing. I wouldn't worry about the lighting. It's lovely - very sophisticated and clever. (My favourite view? From the balcony. Full effect coupled with feeling 'unseen' - to dance unselfconsciously from beginning to end!)

Appreciate your perspective...thanks The lighting is very focused and staged but Adam knows where to hit his marks so although stage may be only lit in places he's in the light - or to put more simply, you can see him fine :-) glad ad people enjoyed recap. From tweets seemed like everyone there really loved show. I didn't comment on the opener... Totally forgot about her. She sang something, I think it was different songs because they all sounded the same. Her band (keys and drummer) wore furry ear hats ... No idea why. The teenage girls who took over a couple of empty front row seats for her set loved her, knew all the words (which surprised me because it didn't seem from her singing that her songs had words) danced and generally had a blast during her set. Which I guess means I'm not her demographic. Only serving to highlight how unusual Adam is - I'd say the only demo impervious to him is straight men over 40. Not it sure who asked the question but no Mr Bridgeymah doesn't run security for that venue anymore so he wasn't there (see above note re demo LOL).
