I couldn't resist - saw an oreo cake at the grocery last night and picked it up and took it in to the office today to celebrate Adam. My team enjoyed it and only laughed a little bit when they asked who we were having birthday cake for

I finally have a few minutes to tell a cute story about a couple 5th grade boys at school this week. They are drummers and have been completely obsessed by playing the drum part from "We Will Rock You," which is very easy and makes them feel like real rock drummers. I told them that I had gotten to see Queen on tour 2 summers ago with their new singer, who is very good. One boy thought Adam's name sounded familiar. Then he made a motion with his hand to show high hair. :D "Oh, his sings that song I really like." Yes, it was Ghost Town. Then I showed them WWRY video from the NYE BBC broadcast. The boy exclaimed that he was the same singer. Then the camera went to Roger on the drums and the other boy remarked "He's old" (just an observation, not negative). I agreed and said what a great drummer he is. Then he decided, since they are going to play drums in a performance of WWRY, that he could dye his hair gray to match Roger's, but wanted to know what color his hair used to be. The other boy was sure he'd seen another guitarist that looked a lot like Brian but had dark hair. I suggested that it was the same man before his hair was gray. The whole encounter was so sweet I was smiling inside the entire time watching their enthusiasm and wonder. I love your story, Holst. Here is a video of Roger back in the day. Your young friends may be amazed... I know I was when I first saw him play "I'm in Love with my Car."

I enjoyed going through the set-list some of these performances I have not seen in a long time, and I am not sure that I ever saw the WWFM performance--very progressive for the time with the male/male couple. Adam is looking and sounding better and better as time marches on.

I see me...lol. Glad they rounded my age down to 64. I've always wondered.. what do people do with their portable chairs when they get in? I'm assuming it's a mad dash to the front if there are no seats, and the chairs look like they may take up quite a bit of space. Enjoy your show! We're taking turns going back to our hotel to get ready for the concert and to drop off our chairs. The hotel is the closest so far at only 200 meters from the venue but we've used the same system for each venue. Regarding the dash to the front, the promoter is using a numbering system for the VIP packages so we are slowly going into the venue in numerical order. No one, VIP or regular GA, is allowed to run or security will stop you and pull you out.

I just sobbed my way through page 1 of this day. Watching Adam on Idol made me feel like watching a loved one grow into an icon. Looking at the audience following his songs on Idol made me realize once again the magic that Adam portrays on stage. Seeing how our Adam reacted to the three year old child and her brother turned me into a puddle. This amazing man has been my life for the last 7 going on 8 years. What would I have done without him. Adam has been in my mind and heart every single waking moment of those years, and I treasure each moment. What a human being we all decided to love and support. He continues to touch me everyday with his spirit. Happy Birthday dear Adam. I wish you success, happiness and love for the rest of your life and many more birthdays. Well I hadn't cried until I read your post!
