Nikka Costa concert 7/15/11 Recap:
My walk never happened yesterday, I didn’t have time b4 the Patti Smith concert.
When I got down to the park where Patti was playing, I got a text from my friends that were going to see Patti with me that they were leaving as all the wristbands were gone.
I said I was there anyway so I would just sit and listen even though I couldn’t see anything behind the stone wall.
Then I got another text from someone else “call me NOW”.
Next thing you know I was flying back uptown with a quick pit stop to ditch my sneakers and put on some sandals. Living in Manhattan makes all these kind of things possible. I love my city.
It was weird being back at the Highline. It was certainly warmer. For Kradison I stood in line from 10am in 20 degrees. The bouncer did not allow the people in the front to go and come as they pleased. We were behind a barricade and they even chased people away
who came to talk to us. After 3pm if you left the line you were not allowed to come back.
Our seats were in the balcony. No general admission this time. The VIP area wasn’t blocked off and we could see Adam easily. He mostly leaned against the railing. He was having a great time with his friends. He danced against the railing and he also stepped back and danced with Brooke. They really got into it. It made me so happy that he was happy.
It seems everyone already knows what he was wearing so I’ll just mention one thing. When he came in he wore the long scarf-vest from Skingraft and then took it off and just had the tank top on. Oh My Rah. I’m lucky I’m not the fainting type.
After the show he came over to the bar which was only yards from me. I just froze in my chair. I felt like I was hanging out with Adam but I wouldn’t stare. A few fans came over to him for a pic but I stood in my place.
When we left the venue, I stopped b4 the corner to answer a text. My friends who were also going to Patti Smith asked me how I enjoyed Patti from the other side of the wall. I leaned against a railing to answer them and who should walk in front of me? Directly in
front of me? Adam! He was walking and texting, lol. I never said a word to him. Not one.
Adam and his entourage were having a great time. As they turned the corner you could see them talking and laughing. They literally were dancing in the streets. My heart was dancing with them. Adam was able to walk down the street as free as a bird. I know he loves NYC.
