Ira@ira My grad school roommate can attest I spent an entire semester waking her up singing "Whataya Want From Me?" in the shower every morning
Louis Virtel@louisvirtel I wrote a speech that Kara DioGuardi gave to Adam in 2009 and it ended up inspiring the lyrics that became “Strut” 💅🏻

Tyler gets it- Uber talent ignored, dismissed, and under appreciated, indeed paid in dust. Will that ever truly change?, who knows but at least Adam is making bank with Queen and therefore able to continue performing.

Such a good look on him; even though carefully groomed not so precisely polished and sculpted, more ‘natural’. And I still want that ear crawler...

Why can't these publications (probably someone straight who did not have to deal with the crap) give Ada credit for what he accomplished without taking a swipe at Clay or Adam? Clay and Adam were not responsible for the homophobia that they faced in America. And neither one of them are drag queens so not the same thing. And there were many gay contestants before Clay and after Adam (some even outed themselves on the show a few seasons later) so that did not start with Ada either. The only other drag queen from Idol was Adore but that was later. That would be your comparison. Besides, when Clay and Adam competed, Idol would not have let Ada anywhere near that stage dressed in drag. Lucky for him he came thru during a more accepting time. He certainly did not have to face all the hits that Adam faced while on the show. And Adam faced them because they knew he was gay and everyone was talking about it. He was out and that he did not make an announcement on the show made no difference. Ada Vox applauds 'Idol' for embracing someone 'a little bit different'
Female impersonator Ada Vox made “American Idol” history when she advanced to the Top 10 in the season that ended in May. The reality competition, now on ABC, has come a long way — neither Clay Aiken nor Adam Lambert referenced being gay when they competed on the show. www.stltoday.com/entertainment/music/kevin-johnson/ada-vox-applauds-idol-for-embracing-someone-a-little-bit/article_15557b1f-b4ac-5008-b32e-08ace021524d.html

Well, silly Adam...he thought he was on Idol to sing...go figure.
And Clay was in the closet...2003 was much, much different than 2018.
ETA: Agreed, that drag is a whole other ballgame. But good for Ada for doing it.
