He is not making it easy for me - this "Elvis" karaoke machine (which every Glambert knows wasn't the real Elvis, but Elvis music sung by an imitator) would define the start of the longest Full Circle arc in AFL history! Plus it is a Full Circle straight from the horse's mouth! However, while we know it was in December, we don't know if it was 1989 or 1990... So it would be hard to measure the actual duration. I will have to figure out something. I may be the only Glambert who doesn't know that the Elvis karaoke machine wasn't really Elvis. To my excuse I can say that I did not grow up in the US and that I wasn't that much into Elvis. Most karaoke tapes are not by the original artist.

Adam's "full circle" talk and a "taste" of what he is going to bring upon us is all I needed He is not making it easy for me - this "Elvis" karaoke machine (which every Glambert knows wasn't the real Elvis, but Elvis music sung by an imitator) would define the start of the longest Full Circle arc in AFL history! I will have to figure out something. Adam said he was "6 or 7", which I suspect means he was 6 at Christmas and turning 7 in January. So that would be December 1988.

I had missed this NBC tweet yesterday. Finally! A tiny taste of Adam in action! I was getting worried. Those other photos made him look like he was waiting for a bus. Looks like he really killed Blue Suede Shoes! I am not worried anymore. LOL LOL

I had missed this NBC tweet yesterday. It seems I am not allowed to play this video or something. Do more people from outside the US have this problem?

While the Elvis Karaoke singer would have been an Elvis sound-alike, and not the man, this would have been Adam's first exposure to the song catalogue. I imagine that Blue Suede Shoes was included, and Adam says he learned to sing all the songs on the tape. So, it is definitely a full circle moment of actually singing the song.
As to when it happened, I think we can only guesstimate. Adam has a very nebulous sense of time and often cannot tell you when things actually happened by date or even year. He vividly remembers his experiences, but their chronological occurrence is not stored in his memory. I am reminded of that when people complain about the inaccuracies of the Bo Rhap movie timeline. I think Brian and Roger, like Adam, place significance on events and experiences and emotional impact, not dates. If the movie evokes the right feelings and impact, the details of events probably are unimportant to them, like to many artistic folks.

He said the grandmother that gave him this gift has passed away, so we know it’s the maternal grandma. I assume then this was a Hanukkah gift. Hanukkah 1988 was Dec 3rd thru Dec 11th - in case Kryptoman needs a date...
