I loved hearing him discuss how his voice and performance has grown/developed. "Just because I CAN, doesn't mean I SHOULD." I have definitely noticed that he has dialed back on the ultra stratospheric notes the past couple of years. He still has remarkable range, but, for whatever reason, he has sounded like he is concentrating on the emotions and intent of the songs rather than going for just the gasps from the crowd. He commented that he was going deeper and for more feelings than ego, and I think we have been hearing that. I believe it also reflects on his growing confidence and trust in his instrument. He knows that singing a song well, all by itself, with that wonderful voice of his, impresses the listener, and he doesn't need to "show off".
His renditions of Believe and Blue Suede Shoes are examples of how he thoroughly plumbed the spirit of the lyrics, melody and occasion. Completely different vibes for completely different events and purposes, but with a casual, comfortable, complete mastery of the vocals. He paints beautiful pictures with that voice and ever stroke is intentional and completely in his control.

IDLATORAdam Lambert Returns With Stripped-Back, Deeply Personal “Feel Something”Earlier today (February 21), Adam Lambert revealed that he was releasing a new song called “Feel Something.” He made the announcement to fans via a long, heartfelt statement that outlined his battle with mental health and disillusionment with the music industry. The 37-year-old described “Feel Something” as the “emotional starting point” of his new album (it’s not the lead single) and it’s easy to see why after hearing it. This finds the beloved pop/rocker at his most raw and authentic.
“I’ve been leaving my heart in all the wrong places, took it back way too soon when I should’ve been patient,” Adam sings over sparse, stripped-back production. “I built all these walls so no one could break in, truth is — I miss those nights when my heart could be naked.” This leads to the emotional, relatable chorus: “I don’t need to feel love, I just wanna feel something.” After bouncing around between different genres for most of his career, it sounds like the “Ghost Town” hitmaker has finally found his voice.

Feel Something is a truly gorgeous song. Loved every second of it. I really wasn't expecting a new song today, so I was so surprised when I saw his post on twitter. I really appreciate reading about his journey and struggles. And the song is just a masterpiece. The arrangement is beautiful, his voice is stunning, the lyrics are pure poetry. It made me emotional (I often cry when I listen to music) - it's definitely a great song to begin this new chapter with. Bravo! Listening on repeat, and looking forward to the Oscars performance and then, hopefully, the new single soon after that, and the whole album!

twitter.com/EW/status/1098831866168311808Entertainment Weekly @ew Do you 'Feel Something'? Adam Lambert drops new single for fourth album share.ew.com/JWvNr6UFour years after The Original High, Adam Lambert‘s third album, the active frontman of Queen is dropping new music for his fourth studio effort. At midnight on Thursday night, the singer, 37, released “Feel Something,” the album’s official single and “a gift from me to you,” Lambert wrote to his fans in a note posted on social media. “This song is the emotional starting point of my new album,” he wrote. “The tracks will chronicle the journey of taking responsibility for my own happiness and strength, and searching for intimacy. Since writing this song, I’ve found the joy I was missing and I’m back in my power. I can’t wait for you to hear more!” In the note, Lambert opened up about his struggles, both personally and professionally. “I love making and performing music, but there have been many times where I’ve had to compromise on my artistic vision with executives making decisions based on money and not art,” he explained. “Don’t get me wrong — I’m VERY proud of my body of work. But I’m coming out of a dark period of second guessing my own artistry and having my mental health suffer because of it. I started asking myself, ‘Is all this hustle really worth it?’ I put all my focus on work and started to feel detached in my personal life. My self worth was suffering, I was lonely, and becoming depressed.” Touring with Queen and performing with guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor “recharges me with tons of positive energy” and “reaffirm my confidence in my artistry,” Lambert continued. “With a bit of professional help, and the support of colleagues, friends, and family, I pulled myself out of the darkness,” he later added. “I decided to begin my next album on my own so I wouldn’t be influenced by anything but my passion for music. I reached out to fellow writers and artists that I’d met over the years and began booking sessions with them. I wanted to make the music I wanted to make, and to get in the headspace I was in when I first dreamed of being a singer — before playing the industry game started messing with my love for music.” “Feel Something” was written about Lambert “climbing out of the low period, defying my disillusionment, owning my needs, and opening my heart.” “The life of a bachelor can be a laugh, with plenty of flings,” he wrote, “but after awhile it starts to feel empty. Between frustrations with my career and many lost connections, I felt numb — and though I wanted to fall in love, I knew I wasn’t ready. That’s what inspired me to cry out, ‘I don’t need to feel love, I just want to feel something!’ It was in this realization that I took my first step toward self-care and nursing my spirit back to health.” Lambert, who had a cameo in Oscar-nominated film Bohemian Rhapsody, is next set to perform with Queen on stage during the Academy Awards on Sunday, Feb. 24.

Adam Lambert "Feel Something" Lyrics ❤
(Wanna feel something) (Wanna feel something) (Just wanna feel something) (Wanna feel something)
I've been leaving my heart in all the wrong places Took it back way too soon when I should've been patient I built all these walls so no one could break in Truth is, I miss those nights when my heart could be naked
I don't need to feel love I just wanna feel something If it's never enough At least it's better than nothing
After everyone I've lost And every kiss I wasted I don't, I don't need to feel love Just wanna feel something (Something) Just wanna feel something (Something) Just wanna feel something (Something) I just wanna feel
I waited so long to feel like I'm worthy Find someone who could rewrite the pages I'm turning I've grown with the pain, bathed in the lonely All I want in this moment is someone to hold me
I don't need to feel love I just wanna feel something If it's never enough At least it's better than nothing
After everyone I've lost And every kiss I wasted I don't, I don't need to feel love Just wanna feel something (Something) Just wanna feel something (Something) I just wanna feel something (Something) I just wanna feel
Just wanna feel something (Something) I don't wanna feel nothing I don't, I don't, I don't, no (Just feel something) I don't, I don't wanna feel nothing I don't, I don't Just wanna feel something Just wanna feel something
