I have no words. Well, I have lots of words. Never in a million years did I think I'd use those words and Adam Lambert in the same sentence.

He wore a beard and glittery green eye shadow to the fashion event, and had his long hair slicked back. Lol! This look is like an embodiment of spring/summer! So bright and cheerful! And look at the green and purple eye shadow - the attention to detail we love and expect! Of course I think the fluffy free hair would’ve channeled the season spirit much better but I forgive him for this little idiosyncrasy

He's looking more and more like a glam version of Jason Momoa. I keep laughing at all the "scraggly" or "unkempt" comments as I don't remember ever seeing Jason described that way and he's all the rage right now. YES! And I LOVE it. :D

I'm not getting my undies in a knot about a borrowed outfit for a fashion show. Fashion shows generally feature outfits that are really crazy, or you might call them cutting edge. Whether we like them or not, that's what they are. Adam fits right in. The models themselves wear even weirder stuff. I think Adam looks best in tighter-filling clothes. He has a wonderfully proportioned body and I love to see it. But that's just greed on my part. I know that more form-filling clothes are not the most comfortable, but they sure look good on Adam.
From Adam's response, it looks like he's not trimming his hair or his beard any time soon, so I guess fans should just back off. He's gonna do what he wants to do. And he looks great, IMO.

I see that Adam found himself a pajama party to go to and managed to wear the one that stood out the most. Adda Boy! Is it ridiculous? Of course it is. But is he making a point? Yup, I think he is.
In general, I have to say, this season's 'back to the seventies' knee-jerk reaction of the fashion world has seriously caught me by surprise. Not that I tend to stay on top of fashion trends all that much, but generally I've cruised through the last few years without much thought. We were re-hashing the nineties last year and the year before, and because we obviously all got bored doing that very quickly, the industry did a major shift this spring. I seriously have not seen this much fringe, lace, mismatched colorful fabrics and hippie looks in like 50 years. They tried to bring it back many times before, but I think that this time it is going to stick around for a bit.
It fits with the overall times we are in. It is time to sweep out some old. And the fashion industry wants to be at the forefront of it, of course. And I think it will be. Will the average outfit for the John&Jane of this world be toned down from that? Of course it will, but that is not for Adam to do.
I think there is no bigger FU you can put out than that outfit. It successfully insults every rule book and manual (and esthetic) you have ever seen, which very much seems to be the point. I don't think Adam cares whether he pisses certain people off. Even if it is some of his own fans. It is easy to consider this outfit a hot mess, a bit too easy in fact. While this colorful shock-rock of an ensemble will be endlessly criticized, it also will be relevant. We shall see.

Whether one likes Adam's recent style iterations or not, I don't understand why anyone (including Adam) can be surprised when his fans express strong opinions about them. From the very start, visual presentation has been very important to Adam, and that has gone a long way toward training his fans to be focused on it as well. He has never been one of those artists whose looks are basically incidental to their appeal. I'm not saying fans should feel free to be rude to Adam about his choices - that's wrong when directed at anyone, including public figures - but fans caring a great deal about how he looks is predictable and understandable. Doesn't mean his voice isn't the most important thing, but make no mistake, for many fans it isn't the only thing.
And yes, I'm aware he has the absolute right to do whatever he wants with his appearance.
