Love ya, PattiH, but give it a rest...nagging and "shaming" fans is more likely to drive people away than anything else. I think each fan should do what he/she wants to do, instead of being nagged...never worked for me as a child, and certainly isn't going to work for me as an adult. I don't consider it nagging, I consider it a reminder. Just for the record, I don't particularly care for the video either, but as a fan of Adam who wants to support him and wants him to keep being relevant I have a Spotify list going most of the time and I have a Youtube list I set and play most of the day. It really takes little effort and is helping Adam with every listen/view.

I got this yesterday as well already. I just got the sponsored ad for #NewEyes 👁 by @adamlambert on my Instagram stories again. If you swipe up you get all the streaming and buying options! They are definitely putting some money in there!

Maybe lots of Adam's core fans are/were watching the video with AdBlock not realizing about it not counting. I've been doing that for years. I can see where the vid wouldn't be monitized.....but never thought about not counting a total view as one view in the view count. I just watched NE on my phone and let the whole ad play beforehand.....where I used to hit the "skip ad" as soon as I could. So that one view I assume counted and is monitized. But that isn't nearly as convenient as viewing on my computer. We've discussed all this before...so won't rehash it all again. Maybe most folks use their phones...IDK...where fewer folks have AdBlock installed. Looks to me like this YT viewing and music streaming is going to take way more viewers than just devoted Glamberts. Also makes you think that Adam's millions of followers on Twitter and IG aren't that interested or invested. Maybe NE will catch on via the various streaming playlists. Fingers crossed. Views count, if you use Adblock. The difference is, that Adam won’t get money for these views. But that’s a different number of views, that we cannot see. OK then. If views do count on YT with Adblock.....I'll do more of that. I may have misunderstood Q3s comments about the views on YT not counting in the overall view count with Adblock. The not being monitized makes sense.. Wonder if there's any positive to total view counts in the big scheme of things other than it looks impressive to the public. I guess ideally, Adam would want both visible high numbers counts and big monitized numbers as well. Does the public get the monitized figures in comparison to the total view count figures?

I really want to see this song do well. But Adam describes it as meeting someone new who is innocent (not jaded) and they are viewing things thru new eyes. How relatable does that make it to the average listener or viewer? Unless you are dating a teen, you are unlikely to have met anyone described in that way in a very long time. And the video does not reflect that anyway. I am not in a hurry to move on to the next song because I do like this one and want it to succeed. But I think people want to connect and feel something with a song and video and not only as it applies to the life of the artist. They generally want the artist to relate and tell their story as well. It can be personal but also universal if the goal is to attract more fans.

I could be wrong, but I think that most of the time when people listen to a song they’re paying more attention to the tune, the beat, the sound, than to the deeper meaning behind the lyrics. For example, I’m a huge Rolling Stones fan, and I know darned we’ll that If I paid attention to the lyrics of a lot of their songs (like Bitch or Under My Thumb) I might have a different opinion. So I don’t think whether the lyrics are relatable makes that huge a difference unless they’re really really over the top. I love NE but I sure haven’t had that experience recently...

But if they had been running around explaining it (on a personal level) their meaning might have hit you hard, lol.

Not to mention, the lyrics in the music video are almost mush...very hard to hear, much less discern any deep meaning to them.
