I hope THE color for this Era is BLUE!! BLUE VELVET!!! I certainly hope this Era's color is not black. BLACK VELVET is the name of a 1989 song by Alannah Myles about Elvis. "Black Velvet" referring to the many souvenir paintings of Elvis on black velvet fabric. New Eyes and Black Velvet do have something in common. They are both slow, slinky, sultry, bluesy songs with a swing rhythm, slow enough to make great songs for teaching West Coast Swing dance to newbies. Last week I suggested New Eyes as a great teaching song to a ballroom/swing dance instructor. He liked and I think will try using New Eyes for class.
