I know he's your friend but that's part of the reason Adam can't get a break from some people. Most people who are fans of an artist keep on about them, you don't have to beat them over the head but to never bring Adam up again!!! I bet your friend talks about his favorite artist. Believe me, I know this person enough to realize that nothing I say would have made a difference. And there are too many reasons, which you aren't aware of, that would have made matters worse, if I persisted. And ....I have spent the last 10 years singing my praises and adoration for Adam and his music that most who know me already think I'm absolutely nuts---but that's okay. They seem to love me still--- I know lorraine, I've been there too. I'll just carry on and love Adam and the rest of them can listen to their autotuned favorites!

OTT, but not really when you consider Adam's views about freedom to choose what you want to wear and some of his gender bending choices. For my part, I remember in 1970 the female students in my high school finally won the right to wear "pant suits" to school, i.e. tops had to be below hip length. (Really, just pants under our mini-dresses. Maybe they thought it the lessor of 2 evils. 😉) It was another year or two before we could wear jean's like the boys! How times have changed! But still more changes needed! @npr: 🔊 School started last week in Mexico City, and with the new school year comes a new uniform policy: Students can wear skirts or pants, regardless of their gender. But that isn't sitting well with everyone. (@hereandnow) n.pr/2zv6nDv

Dead horse ahead, but it's Google's fault! Since Google knows what I have been searching for in the last few days, today my Android phone proposed a Quora article entitled "Did Adam Lambert ruin Queen?". www.quora.com/Did-Adam-Lambert-ruin-QueenThere are some interesting answers, but the top one is kinda relevant to our recent discussions. Bolding is mine. Good find. I think this person may represent a typical Queen music lover (not necessarily a band lover) who saw the movie and sees that the band is coming to town and decides to go. And why would they google to see what the band is like now, must be good they are in big arenas. Sure they know that Freddie is dead but that's about it, they may not know that Brian and Roger are still in it but they expect to see Queen and of course you can't do Queen without including Freddie. Sure yeah the tickets say + Adam Lambert but wow he's not just the permanent opening act he's actually singing the Queen songs. I'm scratching my head here. Everything is really exciting but it's Queen, isn't someone supposed to be Freddie? In the movie they had someone who was being Freddie. This Adam guy isn't even trying to be Freddie, what the heck is going on? I came to see Queen, Queen equals Freddie, no Freddie means no Queen. Why is this not like the movie? And I think this is a bit where Mark Martel fans get stuck too and since they have no idea how hard the songs actually are to sing then of course why couldn't they have found someone who maybe would have at least acted like Freddie or dressed like Freddie or even sounded like Freddie. So back to what this guy was saying - when is Freddie's doppelganger finally going to come on stage? I think that more than any other band, other than the Beatles, Queen was a band of personality and that personality was Freddie. Through QAL I've gotten to know that they were much more than the sum of their parts but I wouldn't have known that, I don't know if my DH who is much more of a music person than I am (he quizzes me on 70s music when we travel) would have known the full extent. Any way back to the concert. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to feel, no Freddie, good music but I was expecting a Freddie something or other. After all the tickets say Queen not Brian and Roger..... And then this Adam guy says, no shit I'm not Freddie (exactly what I was thinking) and he pretty much tells me nicely that he's not going to pretend to be Freddie, he likes Freddie though, and he's going to be singing the rest of the songs. So I reset my expectations, this is not the Queen movie, they have absolutely no intention of trotting a wannabe Freddie out here just for me. I guess I'm not upset about that, I just didn't know what to expect. Now that I know I guess I can just enjoy the moment. There's some people in here who are really getting into this...... oh look Love of my Life and there's Freddie. So that's how they include him and we are all having a good time.
