I guess. I like the way Adam moves with more natural movements. And I have never been a big fan of Terrance and Johnny's style of dancing and to me Adam does not move like them. They are really good dancers, but as much I don't like Chris Brown and Derulo, I prefer their dance styles much better. So I was only saying that maybe Adam has some good moves on his own and not that he has never practiced. I don't think you can be in the business he has been in most of his life and not practice. But I would not be so quick to give the credit to his friends, if I didn't know they were responsible. Maybe his friends are responsible or maybe he picked up some techniques from others in the business. I doubt he was only around his friends. Both probably. Adam has been in the business long enough to pick up dance moves and add his own flavor to it, but I have a feeling that some of his friends taught him a bit of technique also. Terrance might have been one of them, as well as Brooke. The turns that Adam has shown us occasionally don't come naturally, they have to be learned as there is a technique involved called "spotting". And I saw him do that. Adam comes from Musical Theater. Dancing is a required skill there. I know Adam never went to one of the Musical/Stage schools. But when I was a teenager and really into musicals, I was very curious about the requirements to study there and what they would teach you. To become a professional musical artist, you must study 3 fields: singing, acting and dancing. And you need more than basic skills in all three of them to even get a chance there. Since Adam went to these children’s theater group and did musical theater all his life until he was 26, he must have learnt to dance. Only singers, who come later into the musical theater world can’t dance. And some are simply not that good at it. Adam said, that the cast of Wicked was devided into 3 groups from the beginning: dancers - dancer/singers - singers. Adam was in the second group. Therefore he had to learn all the dance moves with the professional dancers and it was hard for him to keep up with their tempo in learning new moves. But apparently his skills were good enough for that group. The dance lesson with Paula Abdul during Idol must therefore have been a walk in the park for him. Especially compared to other contestants, who never had learnt such a choreography before... Adam can dance, he‘s just not a professional dancer like Terrance or Johnny, who barely do anything else.

You made some very good points and I like your explanation. I probably was not explaining what I meant very well. But without knowing what kind of training Terrance or Johnny have had, they always seemed more suited for Broadway or Musical theater to me. I never thought rock or pop when they were on stage. Yes they are excellent dancers but in a professional dancer type of way, if that even makes sense. Adam's movements seemed more rock/pop star like but I have no doubt he has picked up some training from his musical theater days. But on stage Adam's moves appear more natural and unrehearsed, even if that were not the whole story. But T and J seemed to change the flavor for me. Less pop/rock and more Broadwayish. However, I would love to see Adam get a Broadway show one day and show off his musical theater skills.
