I never thought I would miss RCAEd....but I really miss RCAEd.
I really want some new album numbers, particularly post EMAs.

He said a couple months ago that TPTB didn't want them giving out numbers anymore. Then he gave us a few numbers once more and nada after that. I could see this coming.

We'll know the numbers when WWFM goes 2X platinum and FYE the album goes platinum. Yup, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

Yes, when he is on Idol next season and they do his intro video, "Adam Lambert, international super star! His first album has gone platinum, he has sold over 10 million singles, worldwide! Singing his new number one hit....??!!) ;D

I can understand why they may not have bothered with certifying it gold, but platinum is much more news-worthy and I imagine that Adam and DMG will insist!

They did the Gold Certification for the album. The Web crew at AO stated that they are no longer allowed to give the weekly figures like RCAEd was doing but they will give milestones. FYE going platinum would certainly be a milestone. The last update we had was the end of August and RCAEd had mentioned that the album was selling less than 500 a week and the last total was 824,000. So unless a sales boost comes along from either the new single or the new album or possibly a holiday sales boost at <500 a week it would take at least 352 weeks to hit platinum.

But isn't it based on albums shipped? Also, weren't other albums certified platinum when selling nowhere near 1M? Jhud comes to mind.

It is albums shipped and I am of the opinion that when album #2 comes out, people will also be looking for album #1. I see real platinum for FYE by end of next year! Too bad the bastard albums will be around to confuse them though. >:(
