Queen is rumoured to headline Firefight Australia bushfire benefit concert in Sydney alongside major international and local artistsBy Kylie Walters For Daily Mail Australia Published: 19:12 EST, 6 January 2020 | Updated: 19:16 EST, 6 January 2020 Musicians will band together next month at Sydney's Firefight Australia benefit concert in Sydney to raise much-needed funds for bushfire victims. Promoters for the concert, set for February 16 at ANZ Stadium, have already promised a stellar lineup of major international and local artists. While the full program of entertainment has yet to be announced - British rock legends Queen are already rumoured to have signed on for the charity fundraiser. Promoters TEG Dainty promoted the Firefight benefit concert on Monday via Facebook, with an event page already boasting more than 7000 interested patrons.
'This is a major musical event which will see globally-renowned artists from Australia and around the world come together to perform and show solidarity with people whose lives have been disrupted by the bushfires,' the announcement stated. 'This national initiative will raise money for relief from the bushfires that continue to devastate communities and challenge emergency services in rural and regional Australia.'
Queen, fronted by Adam Lambert, are scheduled to play at Sydney Stadium on February 15, and have a free schedule until four days later for a show in Melbourne.
With the convenient break in their touring, The Daily Telegraph have already speculated that the band could be joining the concert.

THEGAYUKAdam Lambert says queers in music are becoming mainstream Adam Lambert has spoken about how LGBT+ people in music are becoming mainstream while still maintaining a niche and “subcategory” vibe.
In the time since Lambert’s first release back in 2009, there has been a wave of out artists, including Sam Smith, Janelle Monáe, Olly Alexander, Frank Ocean and MNEK. Speaking in Rollacoaster magazine, Lambert said that at the beginning of his career that being out in the music industry felt like “uncharted territory” and “scary” but it was exciting because it was the dawn of change. “A whole niche now”

Adam Lambert covers new issue of Rollacoaster Magazine
Adam Lambert is kicking off 2020 by appearing on the cover of the Spring/Summer 2020 issue of Rollacoster Magazine.
The cover feature includes photography by Bartek Szmigulski and an interview with Bailey Slater. Take a look at the cover below:
In the interview Adam discusses finding inspiration in the past and fellow artists. He says:
“I don’t tend to have a set style, I always like being inspired by something like my dad’s crazy record collection, and remembering the stuff that was played around the house…I started recognising that some of my favourite contemporary artists that I was listening to, were all referencing the past in a really beautiful way and I was inspired by that.
“I love Tame Impala, I think King Princess is super dope. I love everything that Harry Styles is doing I’m like “Whoa! This is really fucking cool!” This is an artist I like that’s sort of doing his own thing, not following a bunch of trends, not getting sucked into people-pleasing, it sounds like he’s doing it for himself and I think that’s a similar path that I’m on”
During the interview, Adam opens up about his latest release Velvet talking about how he had a greater creative control than his previous records.
“With Velvet, I really wanted to turn a corner and go somewhere sonically very different than I had been. I kind of wanted to do it on my own terms and not have to compromise with all the creative side of it.

IDOLATOR From ‘SHE IS COMING’ To ‘Self Portrait’: The 20 Best EPs Of 2019While the rise of streaming has had an overwhelmingly negative impact on albums, the opposite is true for EPs. Abbreviated offerings are all the rage — largely due to their versatility. You can use them as a dumping ground for singles or as a stepping stone to something bigger. There’s also a lot less risk involved. Nobody expects an EP to set the charts on fire, which means artists can experiment without worrying about commercial expectations. And, if things go well, you can always add a couple of songs and call it an album.
Last year brought us a steady stream of great EPs. Some introduced news artists to the world (think Griff’s The Mirror Talk), while others reacquainted us with old favorites (Låpsley’s These Elements). And then, there were projects that were tantalizingly close to being an album. Julia Michael’s dual EPs would have made one of 2019’s best LPs, while Sasha Sloan’s Self Portrait was a couple of tracks from being a stellar debut. Dive into my list of 2019’s best Extended Plays below.
10. Velvet: Side A — Adam Lambert
You can add Adam Lambert to the increasingly long list of artists flourishing outside the label framework. The freedom of being independent allowed The Glamorous One to experiment without constraint. As such, Velvet: Side A is Adam’s most eclectic offering to date, dabbling in everything from ’70s funk to power ballads.
