Just my little bitch for today. I understand that the phrase "replace Freddie Mercury" should NEVER be used when describing Adam's role with Queen. (Altho', that is what he is doing in concerts.) But, hells bells, he has been their frontman for 8+ years now. I grit my teeth to read that Adam is "standing in" for Freddie, as if Freddie has a little head cold, and will be back next week. Adam IS the lead singer and frontman for Queen. Period. Yeah, I'll step off my soapbox now.Preach! Lol, I agree with you. It seems so silly. Adam is the frontman now and has been for years. They sometimes give the impression that if they wish hard enough that Freddie will be back. Or maybe they just want Brian and Roger to retire so they won't have anything to write about when it comes to Queen. a few days ago someone posted a compilation of the clips from the QAL documentary where Roger Taylor talks about Adam. I wanted to add that to the thread where people talk about Adam, but I cannot find the video now. Any help?

So, I was wondering, do you think Adam calls Pharaoh up and talks to him over the phone when he is away?

And he is not going to be there." So, if Adam is "standing in for Freddie", it's gonna be a long wait until Freddie returns.

Yes, they all look snazzy, and I did notice that Brian’s beautifully tailored tapestry blazer came just a tour-leg behind someone else’s tapestry suit. Roger...now Roger’s got this; he has had it all along. He would probably just have been in on the conversation and gone to his closet, finding something he liked there or getting something new. I remember getting a kick where Brian and Roger were asking about taping a video for one of their songs from, of course, decades ago, and Roger’s major comment was that his shoes were a mistake and that he should have chosen others. I knew then that he and Adam had a massive connection.
I agree with those who think a short yellow jacket would or could be touchy. I also reserve the right to say that I almost immediately had a not pleasant and quizzical reaction to the playing of the Freddie version of DSMN. This tour is billed as QAL, not Queen. It was planned ahead by master-planners. With all of the things that large organization has had to handle, I refuse to believe that this was the thing that was not do-able. And I also do not agree that relatively few of these listeners other than us more avid fans would know the difference. One in five of the country has seen the movie. DSMN is the last thing that is played; the only footage of the “real Freddie” that is in the movie. The audience skews young. I know I would have known the difference between one of the, if not the favorite musician I had. 😍🥰😍. I know Brian and Roger totally support Adam. Maybe it will be changed later. 😎
Anything that can be done to solidify or grow Adam’s hard-won status as the talented and charismatic frontman of a tight-knit “family” who just happens to be one of the famous bands of all time is great. And I read somewhere early-on in this bush-fire relief planning where Brian said they might do the Live Aid set and that they were looking at that closely. I surely hope I read that wrong because I thought, “No, just no”. There won’t be any coming back from that one”. But I don’t think I remember anyone commenting, so maybe I read it wrong or something.
Anyway, I hope everyone enjoys this lovely QAL time!💐

Why would they do that? But then I thought Brian seems to be more into the Queen past and it is likely his call. I hope they will keep in mind all the excitement around QAL before the movie. The past was highlighted in the movie and that seems enough of going back. When they did the Global Citizen, Brian tried to compare it to Live Aid. They are in demand now and today with the music done with Adam out front and singing the songs. Enjoy the present, lol.

They'll recognize someone they haven't seen for years. Nice that Pharaoh has a great second home with a doggie pal like Hazel.
