Fire Fight Australia claims #2 spot as Australia’s favourite all time concert
By Geordie Gray
May 25, 2020
A recent poll conducted on 5,000 Ticketek Insider fans has determined Australia’s favourite concert tour of all time.
The poll saw over 600 concerts and tours nominated, dating back seven decades to The Beatles first world tour. According to the report, Australia’s favourite concert of all time is Elton John’s monolithic 2019/2020 farewell tour Farewell Yellow Brick Road, which amassed 416 votes.
The second most popular concert of all time was February’s historic bushfire relief stadium concert, Fire Fight Australia —winning over the hearts of 412 Australian concert-goers. The event saw artists like Queen and Adam Lambert, to 5 Seconds of Summer, Olivia Newton-John, John Farnham, Amy Shark, k.d. lang, Alice Cooper and many more grace Sydney’s Olympic Park and raise $9.5 million on the day for bushfire relief.
Queen + Adam Lambert’s own 2020 The Rhapsody Tour came in at fifth place, behind P!nk’s mammoth 2009 Funhouse tour and Adele’s 2016 Adele Live tour.
“There is nothing like a live experience, and our research shows that of all the activities people are missing the most during COVID-19 attending live shows is one of the biggest for Ticketek fans,” shared TEG Chief Operating Officer and Head of Ticketing Cameron Hoy.
“Sharing the live experience creates connections between us and memories that last a lifetime, as shown by the fans who nominated The Beatles’ concerts they saw more than 50 years ago.
“We are looking forward to a return to live audiences and are working hard to make that possible for
fans because, as we all know, it is an unbeatable experience. Life is better live.”
