Why are people even responding to him with all lives matter? They know what Black Lives Matter is all about and why it is such an issue now. If it is not their issue, just leave him alone and support whatever causes are more important to them. You can't force him (or anyone)to adapt to your way of thinking (by ignoring the problem) about something that is very upsetting to him. There is a lot of hurt and emotion going on now. Why antagonize him? Why add salt to the wounds. IDGI.

LA is being hit very hard by the protesters, and many of the stores in The Grove have been looted by the bad actors. I just have this wonderful memory of shopping there with some special Glamberts that beautiful summer day when we all gathered for Adam shows at the Orpheum. It just makes me so sad. ITA. I have so many memories of the Grove, Beverly Center, Flower Market, and Melrose. All wrecked. And Walnut Street in Philadelphia. And....everywhere in the USA it seems is a mess.

Rioting, looting, and sirens in the streets outside my downtown apartment building. I am on the 3rd floor and feel relatively safe, but what is going on is scary. This photo was taken from the opposite end of my building ... we can hear glass breaking and people shouting ... they are breaking into businesses on the ground floor.

This photo was taken from the opposite end of my building ... we can hear glass breaking and people shouting ... they are breaking into businesses on the ground floor. Wow, Justkaren, please stay safe.
It is sad to see what is going on at the moment in this country and how even the most basic forms of decency seem to be in question with some of the people. of course not all, in fact, not even a majority, but never the less, a strong enough minority, that every meaningful thought seems to find its destroyers before it can even reach those, for whom that point was intended.
In a country, where peaceful free speech or expression (i.e. Colin Kaepernick) is not as protected as the first amendment would indicate, where somebody can get banned from his profession for it, and the public does not rebel, the citizens will have to decide whether they rather want somebody kneeling before a flag or they want somebody kneeling on somebody else's neck.
The country so far chose to be quiet at the injustice when Kaepernick stood up for or better kneeled down for BlackLivesMatter. The public kept watching Football, and outside of the media, everybody else moved on with their day.
You have a presidential candidate say "Mexicans are rapists" and people voted for him anyways, 40 % did, but it was enough, and now looting and shooting follows. These things are connected.
If being gay, or trans, or a foreigner, or sometimes simply female can get you constantly discriminated against, there is more wrong than just hatred of blacks, but it is also quite apparent, that discrimination and hatred against the black community has been especially extreme, constant, and systemic.
Of course, I don't want any looting. That discriminates too: At the shop owners whose stores get looted, at the police who is trying to re-create some kind of order, and because of those attacks some folk's experiences may cement their fear and hatred only further. On both sides.
These things can only be overcome with calm thinking about the values of all lives, freedoms and rights for everyone, and a society that wants to protect all of its citizens, all of them. But that is not what America has put into its White House at the moment. From there comes continued divisiveness and every attempt to further pour oil into the flames.
I hope the thinking starts sooner rather than later.
Adam surely tries, but you can see how many want to mis-understand, whatever their motives may be. This country stands very divided at the moment, and in reality, we should all be at home, something that also divides us. What a mess.
