Laura and labron-james are two people with two different opinions, I don' see how that makes either of them a racist. Why is Laura's opinion less valuable than the opinion of Labron James? People throw the word racist around so much the meaning has been diluted. As for Drew Brees he is a good man who has donated a fortune to all kinds of different causes in his community and I believe he is also entitled to express what his Country and flag mean to him. As for Laura, she has three adopted children, I believe the two boys are Russian and the girl is a brown skinned girl from Guatemala....looking at her family doesn't make me think racist. I'm guessing you probably think anyone who watches Laura's show or listens to her on radio show is also a racist. Because she’s a racist

I am almost technologically inept. I wrote and posted something, accidentally posting it to yesterday’s post. I tried “quote” and tried to highlight to copy. Can anyone help? Partly, getting what should be easy is not because I got word that one of my friends has Covid, has been taken to hospital, and will have to go on assisted breathing. Thanks again to anyone. Here you go - doing your copy/paste in BBCode instead of Preview helps. Best wishes for your friend. As always, please feel free to scroll!!🙂 yes, this is long, so I don’t expect most people to read/listen to it. I have just been deeply absorbed in current events and my past, so forgive, please.🙄 It occurred to me how truly international this forum is, how regionalism might have impacted whether one did or did not read or listen to the incomparable Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr’s, “I Have a Dream” speech. Or perhaps, like me, it has must been a long time since we listened. As someone from Alabama whose life was shaped by racism in innumerable ways,a few of us who started asking questions about our town were pointed to Dr.King by a teacher who probably risked dismissal. His words rang true then and still do. if I was asked what two seminal works I think anybody touched by what is/has been going on, I would recommend two of his works, one to listen to and one to read. (1.) To listen to: attached: “ “I Have a Dream” (2) To read: “Letter From Birmingham Jail”. The speech and the essay are quite as timely as they ever were. If you asked me to choose only one, however, I would say “Letter From Birmingham jail” expresses his vision in full as I know it. Also, because of its nature, it is better to read it. The irony of where Dr King gives his “I Have a Dream” speech will not escape you. youtu.be/jyR8h9iimw4Connection to Adam : well, everything now And, American Idol. (My second favorite American Idol) Many people already know the history of “Summertime”, so I’ll just say this song is from the opera “Porgy and Bess”. An opera by Gershwin meant to draw attention to racial inequities and used more than once, in fragments, throughout the opera. He purposely wanted this song to have the cadence and subtle reference to a black spiritual. youtu.be/-WWtGpEqpV4

I like that Adam checks also Fox news. It´s important to have a bigger picture and see news on different stations. One must apply a critical thinking when watching the news and you should too. It will be beneficial for you.

Thrilled Adam watched Tucker Carlson last nite and agreed with him. It's the best show on TV and had the highest ratings of any TV show Monday nite...cable or broadcast. Hannity gets on my nerves, but I love Tucker. I think his shows are on Youtube. Agreed, I love Tucker and Laura too, she's a smart cookie. Tucker makes a living pretending to be a country bumpkin - "If I can understand this everyone can" - but that's not how the real world works. That's why there are two different studies of economics for example Micro and Macro and he applies only small sphere thinking to every problem he comes across. When he can't see farther than his nose and that's all he presents to his audience then his ivory tower is no different than the other side's. Now I do check in on Fox a couple of times a day - they will cover news outside the beltway (how I miss CNN headline news) and it was always entertaining watching Shepard Smith being reasonable (too bad he's gone) while the newsroom scroll writer was doing everything they could to put up the party line instead. I roll my eyes at times at the other outlets too - they do make mountains out of some molehills and I'm tired of the same experts discussing things instead of reporting on things. For Adam I'm a bit concerned that he's espousing far left conspiracy theories. I don't find them any more palatable than the far right ones.
