Haha, that was me the first time I heard this song. Still one of my top favorites. You made me think of the songs of Adam's that made me most emotional and tearful and the two that stand out far above the others are Underneath and Feel Something. Both of those made me cry almost every time I listen...certainly stop me dead in my tracks. Ditto his first few renderings of Stay...but that was more situational than 'his' song. Pretty raw when he first sang that....

Wonder if Adam is seeing all the tweets and responses to the documentary. Wonderful to see the overwhelmingly positive responses about the documentary. I think it is really well done as it puts a very human face on this collaboration and the individual journeys that brought them together. That and Adam's humility and willingness to learn and honor Freddie likely were more of a deal breaker than the many parts that highlight Adam's vocal talents. I am not good at comparing and interpreting numbers but I do hope that all the flailing about the documentary also translates into increased interest in Adam's solo efforts. "Velvet" deserves it.

I think the documentary served to show Adam's tremendous talent for sure. But I also think, for those who only thought Idol or pop, and how dare someone from that show replace Freddie, were able to see he had that rock star thing going on even then, lol. And of course it showed that Adam was not trying to erase Freddie. But he has been working, with Brian and Roger, to highlight and bring to more fans the incredible music that they along with Freddie had created. And he did it with his own style and talent. Never trying to copy or to be Freddie. Adam Lambert is more than enough and up to the challenge while never trying to do anything but honor Freddie and the band. And to thrill fans with his vocal talents, showmanship and some very good music they all loved.

I think it's making a difference. The night before Corden someone else said Velvet was #148 on pop albums. Ever since Corden it's back in the top 100. Kind of bounding around- up to 26 one day and moving up and down on different days. At #48 at the moment. We'll never know how much difference all the promo would have made. I think all these events right now are helping- Since Corden- the beautiful acoustic set for the Grammy museum. Now 2 different performances of Roses- both wonderful. Plus Mad World. And don't forget the watch party! Plus the documentary. Plus his Instagram followers have steadily been going up since then also. I think he's been doing as much as he can- it all adds up- once he figured it out after he adjusted at the beginning. I get the impression he was pretty miserable for a couple weeks. Seems to be handling it beautifully now- putting out music and trying to make a difference with his foundation. I applaud him and love and respect him all the more for all of this!
