Prices change and the real estate markets change. Adam obviously renovated his home for HIS own enjoyment at the time. Many can afford to do that without worrying about the resale value. I don't think the average person should judge his decisions based on the circumstances of the average Joe. Of course he wanted to get rid of the second home. He was paying mortgage/taxes on a home he was no longer living in. But I don't think that means he regrets making his home the way he wanted it while he lived there. Sometimes you can put a home on the market, and you make no major changes, but it still does not sell because the supply and demand may change. He didn't get his asking price but nothing so unusual or heartbreaking about that. It happens to celebrities and non-celebrities. He was likely one of the fortunate ones able to bite the bullet without much worry. He purchased his new home then immediately had it renovated. He wasn't in such need of money that he even had to wait for the first house to sell. When you are a multi-millionaire, you make your home to your liking and maybe don't worry if the next guy will like your changes, lol. With a $30M net worth, a $75,000 loss and eating the cost of renovations, are no reasons for me to fret about Adam's finances or his choices? He is probably just happy to be rid of the thing. I'm happy for him.

Today is a holiday in much of Canada. We call it BC Day here. As part of this no fun summer, the big celebratory event, the Symphony Splash, was cancelled. It is a fun afternoon and evening of music and raises funds for the symphony through donations. The musicians play on a barge anchored in the Inner Harbour and the crowds watch from the Legislature lawn and the causeway. The program always ends with the 1812 Overture and fireworks which look so pretty over the water. So I googled Adam Lambert and symphony and this is what came up. No Adam vocals though! www.youtube.com/watch?v=bS-BaQ7BSvY

I wish QAL had released a QAL live album. I think that would have sold very well. I would have bought it and played the heck out of it. I know they did the one for Japan but why not for the US, Uk Europe and Australia? They would have made a killing I think. Or maybe they were going to wait until the last of the Rhapsody tours (maybe even S. America) but circumstances took over. It is hard to know what other goodies were planned. Then again, maybe it is better that we didn't know, lol. Besides all the death and suffering, it is so hard to wrap my head around all that has been lost.

I'm happy for him.I agree that Adam likely won't lose sleep over a 75K loss from the old house, though I am wondering how quickly he realized that the heart shaped wading pool wasn't quite as enjoyable as he thought it would be and thus rendered it a big mistake. I too am happy for him that he had the means to move on to an upgrade, a fairly new house with stunning views that he was able to remodel to his liking while still maintaining the old place. Adam has been in a very fortunate position money wise, and I have no doubt that he realizes that every day. The QAL collaboration has done a lot for Adam - besides being embraced as a family member by world icons and earning world recognition, their collaboration has made him a wealthy man. The current state of "limbo" must not be easy.

Does anybody remember which distributor of the physical copies of "Velvet" has the NE vocals on it? I would like to order a couple more to give away, but I do not want to gift an album that is missing the vocals on one song. A friend of mine who was a fan during Adam's Idol run told me just the other day how delighted she was to see Adam at a recent live stream. She couldn't remember which one it was but I think she would really appreciate a physical cd.
When the album came out, I bought a few copies from Amazon and a few from Empire, and I think the cds from his label had the vocals on it as they made last minute adjustments, but not quite sure anymore. Can someone enlighten me? I do not want to run the risk of another cd with no NE vocals, but would like to buy a few more copies if still available. Thanks!

Yep, property taxes in the US can be ridiculous...depending on the area you live in. That's why lots of people decide to cheaper areas...only then to drive up the property values when enough people move to that same area. It goes in waves. Washington and Oregon was the place many Californians moved to to get away from Cali's high taxes. That drove up WA and OR's taxes and real estate prices. Currently, everybody seems to be moving to Idaho, including some of our relatives. I'm sure Idaho will hate us before too long, if they don't already. I read an article recently that a lot of Floridians are moving to the Appalachians (if I'm remembering correctly). Real estate is already going up because Floridians are able to pay a lot more for housing than the current residents can. It's a vicious cycle. We've had Californians Go Home bumperstickers for half a century, lol. The people who don't read up think that it's all liberals moving in but the stats show it's more conservatives. Having had a KKK and now 2nd amendment camps up north don't help. Our gov is a moderate but our lt. gov (a woman) is nuts. Two more years till she probably runs for gov against the current one. sadz

The QAL collaboration has done a lot for Adam - besides being embraced as a family member by world icons and earning world recognition, their collaboration has made him a wealthy man. The current state of "limbo" must not be easy. I agree. Anyone who doubts that QAL has been great for Adam should remember that his net worth was listed as $12M before he joined Queen. He was still the wealthiest male Idol at that point as Daugthtry was next at $8M. Adam has only had one solo (TOH) world tour since joining Queen so one can assume that QAL is responsible for at least half of his net worth. Even more once the QAL Stadium tour income is added to increase his net as well as the upcoming European tour if they get it. Of course there is also the possibility that he would have done more solo work but it would not be as lucrative. But QAL has been part of his career and he earned it. Nothing was given to him and he had to manage both sides of his career. And I agree that the state of "limbo" would not be easy for any artists. As for his wading pool, I have no idea what Adam felt about that but I hope he did get some enjoyment out of it. But he never seemed to be home or in the states much anyway, lol.

They're moving to some community up a mountain, where everybody knows everybody and everybody owns a gun. They expressed a desire to see hubby and me move with them and we said no thanks. Not "our" kind of people at all lol. They'd boot my liberal ass off that mountain in no time.
