Well, Richard Grenell is a HeWhoCannot amed toadie. I suspect he wouldn't agree with Adam.

I do feel bad for people that are HeWhoCannot amed supporters, that Adam has become more vocal about politics and is obviously NOT on the side of HeWhoCannot amed. It has obviously become more difficult to keep your music hobby and politics separate. But please understand that the rest of the country is fighting for our rights and to keep our democracy that HeWhoCannot amed is actively trying to destroy. It's difficult to stay silent these days. He's not an ordinary president that we can ignore. Ignoring him is too dangerous. I don't blame Adam for speaking out...his community and he, himself, are in danger of losing their rights.
That said, if I was following a singer that turned out to be a HeWhoCannot amed supporter, I would be out of there so fast, it would probably make my head spin.

The "other" category in the Billboard poll is at the top of the list right now. I wonder how many of the write-ins are Adam. I know I have entered his name in lots of times in the past couple days. I think you can only vote once, because if you vote a second time it says, Thanks we have already counted your vote.

For those of us who see HeWhoCannot amed as an evil man, and a clear and present danger to our democracy, there is little virtue in being tolerant of him or of those who support and enable him.

I would love to know how many of those responses are bots. In no way were they fans or they would have known where he stands. Reading those comments just makes me so ready to vote.

Well, personally I'd like to think that those that originally supported him, can change their minds and realize the danger. I know there are some people on this board that support him, probably voted for him, so they are Adam "friends". There is such a deep divide already, we have at least Adam and his music in common.

Authoritarianism, racism, misogyny, homophobia are human rights issues. They are not simply a difference of opinion. I respect Adam for using his voice for something other than singing at times. Although I do love to hear him sing.

I think it's okay to be frustrated at times and vent. We all need it in one way or the other. I thought that "Superpower" had all the ingredients of a successful single. And the studio recording is so good. I still get pumped whenever i hear the song. The other day I went on a longer car trip and listened to all the Adam albums, except I didn't have FYE with me. It made me really appreciate "Trespassing" and TOH again, and "the very best of..." which includes One, Tracks Of My Tears, Time For Miracles, Marry The Night and Can't Let You Go. What a treat! I immediately wanted to revise my "Top 5 songs for the rest of the pandemic" list or at least state that I can't actually narrow it down to only 5 songs. I had not listened to "Trespassing" the song for a while and I found it so powerful and catchy, also Shady and Runnin only to name a few. And I love Kickin In. I almost forgot how TOH is loaded with treasures for me - GT, TOH, Things I Didn't Say, The Light, Heavy Fire, After Hours, Shame... found new love for all of them!!!!! I actually listened to Shame several times. I somehow felt the "original high" again on that car trip as I listened to one album after the other, and of course "Velvet" is an incredible work of art. Adam has created awesome music and I really want it to be heard by everybody!!!!!! For me, I am still upset that the worst songs were chosen as singles from the TP period. They didn't do the album justice. Rant over. Sorry. The problem with never having a commercial radio hit is exactly what we see right now with the awards shows - you aren't even considered as a potential performer. That's what annoys me so much. The Grammies are supposed to award excellence in the music business and there is no more excellent singer than Adam - yet, I'll bet we're not going to see him perform, not will Velvet get any recognition - despite it being his best work and objectively one of the strongest albums of the year (having listened to quite a few of the rest). Velvet also had songs that are bt every measure better than what's currently on the Top 40. Like Superpower - I mean seriously - is Watermelon Sugar High that much of a better song??? And Closer to You is easily as good a song as Adore You. But Adam doesn't have a large enough fan base to make an impact on sales nor does he get the radio play & exposure. One problem may have been was that the first two singles of Velvet were not all that catchy or strong and so Superpower got very little play. And it does make a difference. Miley Cyrus just released a new song the other day and stations are already playing it every couple of hours or more. That will affect sales and chart position for sure. I'm very glad Adam got that gig with Queen, so he has no money worries for now.
