INTERVIEW: Adam Lambert's Big Week - New Single, New Album, Oh, And Taking His Place With Queen
When Adam Lambert takes his place with the remaining Queen members in London next week and starts to sing the songs that Freddie Mercury made so famous, is there going to be a ghost on the stage?
"Maybe a little bit," admits Lambert. "But you'd have to ask them. I wouldn’t presume to make that call."
Lambert is obviously ecstatic that nearly two decades after Mercury's death, Queen have finally nominated him as someone worthy to fill the almighty gap left by the showman. But he's quietly confident he's up to the challenge:
"I’m not superstitious about it. I do recognise the pressure and the expectation and I want to do a great job, I don’t want to let anybody down. I want to put on a good show. But I also feel confident that I’ll be able to do that.

There were some comments in yesterday's thread (can't remember who from) that were talking about the vocal riffing and runs that Adam does. Some like it, some not so much - I tend to think of it in this way...
Adam is the kid that can ride his bike full speed downhill balancing with his arms spread wide - "weeee look at me, isn't this fun" - that's the way I see the vocal runs, it's his way of spreading his arms wide and embracing the joy of the moment when he sings.
So playing what if for a minute - what if Queen decided to rerelease one song from their back catalog with Adam on vocals what would you nominate...
Well, it would have to be TWO songs. Obviously Who Wants to Live Forever, and then a "fast one." I've just been watching Crazy Little Thing Called Love on repeat and it's so much fun!!
BTW.... At 3:39 and again at around 3:48, Brian is gesturing to Adam to move stage right. At least I think that's what he's doing. And Adam doesn't go anywhere, so Brian, himself, heads over to the right!!!

Hammersmith will be the first time he's singing 2 days in a row and he goes all out, so I hope there are no other interviews scheduled during that time.

Q3: They are working on the Member Search function -- if you are looking for someone use the page numbers to move thru to the person you want. That is working, database look-up is not working.
