If Adam were to make all his career decisions based on what ignorant haters had to say, then he would just have to stay in bed, pull the covers up over his head and never leave his house. Adam has made it clear he doesn't give a shit what haters think. In fact, he said they inspire him and make him work harder.

God you're quick! Yes! Everyone, go watch Top 7 - it's almost spooky how Adam's plans and dreams have come true.

Nova, what are the Confidentials videos and how can I find them? As you may have figured out, they were "home movies" that contestants on American Idol filmed during the competition - they could be about any topic. I believe you had to be a member of the Idol fan club or something in order to see them, but of course some smart person put them online and I got a copy (this was years ago and I'm not sure how/where).

Although a top 10 hit for Adam would be great, I don't think he needs it to be happy or sucessful. As Q said in her post, there are lots of paths to sucess. Have you heard of John Barrowman? He's an Scot/American actor/singer who has made a great career for himself in England with cabaret, theater, recording, tv personality, and actor (Captain Jack on Torchwood and Dr Who). Adam could follow a similar path.
I love John Barrowman aka Captain Jack. He is gay and plays straight roles.

Some months back, I was thinking about Adam and the current music scene. Everyone knows - at least we do - that Adam has a glorious voice that can only be compared to the GREAT singers of the past. Who hasn't Adam been compared to? Elvis, Freddie, MJ, Sinatra, and that's just on the male side. Meatloaf has compared Adam to Aretha and Whitney. Anyway, I was thinking about how big voiced, gifted-by-God singers are no longer embraced. It occurred to me that in today's market a Whitney or a Mariah Carey could never make it. This, was, of course, long before there was any talk about Mariah signing on as resident diva on Idol and releasing new music. So cut to last week when I heard Mariah was going to release a new single. I felt that even if the publicity photo Mariah released to celebrate her Idol signing was old school, she would be smart enough to dumb down for the current market. Sure enough, Mariah is "featured" on her own single. You mention Meatloaf - He hit the music scene in the 70's like a "bat out of hell" and sold millions of albumns, had many hits, became iconic - do you think there would be a place for him on today's charts?? I personally doubt it :( Probably not -- but he had trouble in the 1970's too. Took him 20 years to score a hit single. Meat Loaf has one of the top selling albums of all time -- "Bat Out of Hell" (1977) -- selling over 43 million copies (through 2009). > It peaked at #14 in the US but ended up certified US 14x Platinum > Bat Out of Hell II: Back Into Hell (1993) was a #1 album in US and many other countries. Meat Loaf has many singles -- but only one #1 hit -- "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)" (1992) > It was his 29th single. > Out of 47 singles -- only only 9 singles ever charted in the US Billboard Hot 100. And his #1 hit is also his only Top 10 hit. He did not fair better with singles in other markets. I am a huge fan of Mr. Loaf who is actually still pretty amazing live -- but once was fantastic. [Adam is better.]

I just watched the Top 8 confessional. Which 2 of Adam's friends also auditioned for AI the same day? Did they make it to Hollywood week?
