Live in the Vineyard is a very good gig. He might possibly get some radio promo out of this. I know that The Mix in Chicago is one of the stations that offers tickets for this event (contest type thing) and in the past they have advertised heavily for the artists involved, including good spins.

Is Nov 3rd an AI taping day? I think from what I read in Atop, the judges round will be September and early October and they off in November. Will start the Hollywood week again in end of November or early December. |

Existing AI demographics would not watch Kanye. They consider him a boor, immature and out 0f control singer, who needs to be taught manners. The urban peeps are not going to watch AI for NM or Kanye. The Kardashian link is even worse, because many peeps hate the Kardashians with a passion and Kanye's link to Kim, would make it even worse. Names like Kayne and others are thrown in the mix in my mind as smoke screens. Maybe Ryan's or Randy's influence reach far enough that they let people on their team get some idol news coverage out of these non-stories, but that is about it. And Kayne is so much in the news that he really does not need that either, but perhaps it is useful for him to be in the news for something else than Kardashian crap. He is not going to do idol and idol cannot afford him....so I am not taking these late arrivals seriously. The only thing they have in common is that they are either tied to Ryan or Randy or both. Now NM was in the media talks from early July onwards, as was Adam. So, I think there is more to that, even though I wish it were not so. Everybody knows Adam is in contention as he said so, but whether he ultimately gets it, we all don't know. Will I be disappointed if he does not, sure. But no matter how this ends for Adam there seems to be a storm of gleefully gloating people standing on the sidelines on the various forums to have their day in the sun. And the 'I told you so' video is going to make an appearance. And then things will continue and go back to normal. I cannot get worked up about such childish behavior. We all have opinions and sometimes they happen to be right and sometimes not. Welcome to the world of predictions. With that said: As the CEO I would release Cuckoo now and Trespassing in January. Cuckoo has the PLL crazy train tie in, and the Halloween tie in and is more easily marketed without ability to give more explanations. It is a party song and besides radio, I want it played in every Halloween store, etc. Also, get it included on party samplers coming out for the season. I would book multiple day and night time TV appearances and plan as a talking point that in times like now, it takes somebody who does not talk politics, but just shouts out what everyone feels this fall. That this country has somehow lost its marbles and just invite everyone who feels this way to join him on the crazy train. Anybody who want to stay away from politics and red/blue discussions, but just express a sentiment. Perhaps allow all colors on the crazy train, except red and blue. Has a bit of the rainbow color message, but otherwise just anti politics and anti the present ongoing nonsense. I think with that storyline and the party/halloween theme a hit can be built even if radio digs its heels in. It will resonate with people. Then, with Trespassing in January, the strategy will depend on whether he has idol or not. One thing, Adam can do even if he does not get the idol deal, is to start every TV appearance or interview by breaking through some yellow tape. No need to explain, symbol is simple enough to be self-explanatory, but stuff like that gets stuck in people's heads. Additional benefit is, it can be duplicated by fans. I want any breaking of yellow No Trespassing tape be called having an Adam Lambert moment. If he does not have idol, you create some simple publicity moments around the Trespassing theme, with Album pics everywhere. If he has idol, it is even easier. If radio does not work with Adam, Adam needs to work around them. Stuff like this does not cost a ton of money, just creativity. Get with it RCA. Otherwise, thanks for all your feedback to my post yesterday about recognizable elements in Adam's music and thanks Q3 for fixing the broken quotes. Appreciate. |

If I were CEO of RCA, I would choose Trespassing. I got tired of Cuckoo a lot faster, and Adam maybe be Trespassing in our living rooms soon! ;D
