I just deleted a lot of comments that were in response to a comment that violated Adamtopia guidelines. The are still some "crumbs" left in the comments but I did not want to wipe out the entire Idol conversation.
Please do not post broad generalizations about Idol fans or make any comments defending Idol fans. [/color]

I do think Adam would be a great judge and I do think a the dynamic between Mariah, Nicki and Adam would be hysterical. Jonas would not fit into that kind of dynamic but Adam would. I still don't know if I'd watch though. I'd be hard pressed to commit to watching a tv show 2xs per week even for Adam.

Idol has its advantages -- 20 million people, two times a week + a ton of press/media coverage + online buzz. (Plus there is the money and it is in LA.) Being on Idol also has some potential disadvantages BUT since Adam rose to fame on Idol, he already has the "Idol" label associated with him. So there are fewer disadvantages for him vs. a non-alum. Seems like more in the win column for Adam. For fans, it means that the tour which prob would not have started before late Spring would start in June. BUT we would get to see him 2X a week for over 4 months. That is a lotta Adam. Plus, he would be a great judge. I totally agree!

Just the opposite- being a judge on Idol would HELP and in no way HURT! How could exposure on TV two times a week to 15-20 million viewers "hurt" Adam? It certainly didn't hurt Jlo or Steven, or the judges on The Voice, for that matter. What it did was make some of them household names or put some of them back in the spotlight. IF Adam gets the job, it will not be a GUARANTEE of anything! However, it will get Adam's face and his articulate, charismatic self back into the public eye in a way that no other option available to him could do at this point. It will then be up to him to make the best of this golden opportunity, and I am 100% confident in Adam's ability to spin gold from it! I think it hurt Xtina & Tyler. Not so much JLo because she was never taken seriously as a singer anyway.. Tyler lost a lot of cred amongst his fan base. He lost some in my eyes too. They start to lose credibility as singers and become TV personalities. I don't think Xtina will ever recover her singing career fully. Levine saves himself because he is part of a band. Tyler said that Aerosmith was not happy when he's joining Idol. HOWEVER, Aerosmith's happy when the sales of their album/singles increases by 200%. How was this hurting Steven Tyler and Aerosmith when sales increased by 200%?.

Lol! I know I'm in the minority and probably the only one in this forum who thinks American Idol is a lame gig. I know this forum is filled with American Idol die hards and TV watchers. I never got into the show (can you tell ) But it's all good. But excuse the grin when Adam doesn't get it We each have our view points. I don't care about AI. I've never watched it (only Adam's performances). For me it's all about Adam - he wants it then I want it for him. .. It's not what I want or what You want or what we want.. It's what Adam wants.

Tyler said that Aerosmith was not happy when he's joining Idol. HOWEVER, Aerosmith's happy when the sales of their album/singles increases by 200%. How was this hurting Steven Tyler and Aerosmith when sales increased by 200%?, I really don't understand the logic. Aerosmiths sales went from 1,000 to 2,000 units per week for a short period of time. Now he is touring which helps his sales. But going from 1,000 to 2,000 units per week isn't exactly out of this stratosphere. Tyler ended up in the long run hurting his image because he lost the legend status and he didn't come off to well on the show. He was considered a weak, out of touch judge. When he was first announced as a judge there was this "OMG, I can't believe they got Steven Tyler" Now, he lost that. Now he's a former reality show judge. To me it's the long run that counts not a short bump up in sales. Aerosmith made their newest CD before Idol not because of Idol. But this is all my opinion. Like I said I can plainly see I'm in the minority here and that's all good. Now to move onto another subject. I LOVE that pic of Adam and Sauli at Burning Man. I can't tell if Adam is looking up and grinning because of the person with the camera or he's trying to avoid sand in the wind. Sauli is looking down.
