Nov 3 is a Saturday. No where near an AI taping day. Last year it was Wed and Thurs. I don't think they tape in November? The auditions are Sept and Oct, right? Hollywood week is later? Like December? November 3rd should not be a problem. The taping of the judges' audition episodes seems to change a bit from year to year. Last year, the judges' audition episodes were taped in late August-early October, and Hollywood Week was taped in December: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Idol_(season_11)However, in 2010 (Season 10), judges' auditions were taped late September through early November (possibly to accommodate the announcement of the new judges and their schedules): en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Idol_(season_10)Looking back at other seasons, the late August-early October timeframe is most typical. The judges' auditions take place on weekdays, not on weekends, so this would not interfere with any weekend commitments that Adam has. The live broadcast episodes don't start until early March. Hope this helps.

Well, well. Anyone living in Sydney could tell you from that iconic view and the position of the harbour bridge exactly which hotel Adam is staying at . It's 9:30am in Sydney and it's the end of winter, but will be a very nice 25C (about 80F) during the day. So, a warm welcome for Adam ;D. Still chilly at night though. I'm seeing AFL tonight and I am dazed and confused. Still can't quite believe it is happening.

ET just had a segment on NM and Mariah.. saying that Mariah is less contemporary and that she doesn't seem to want to share the Idol gig with the younger rapper. They showed Mariah holding photo of Lenny Kravitz with why not him? The show mentioned 4 or 5 other male singers up for Idol,Adam was not mentioned.
IMHO It's all about hyping the show. The ending statement.. sounds like it will be an exciting show type of comment.

I'm procrastinating. I have a first date tonight. Lol. I was just reading the TMZ article someone posted about Mariah being mad. TMZ is so in American Idols pocket. They are always the first to have "insider info". I would bet anything AI is feeding TMZ everything. Then Mariah tweets out about Lenny. Sounds like Idol is drumming up fake drama. If Carey really was pissed she'd pick up the phone and call Randy or any one of the producers. She wouldn't take to twitter and tweet @americanidol which is more than likely harvested out.

Holst -- I understand what you're saying, as I grew up with a lot of classical music. I also listened to a lot of rock & pop, and I can always spot a Queen song within a few notes. I think that is what Adam is developing -- a sound of his own. Regarding funk -- listen to Nile Rodgers music for funkiness -- also the Queen + AL "Dragon Attack" has a lot of funk, for example. Funk usually has a strong bass line and a certain danciness to the beat. I used to love the Commodores, and they are funky, as is a lot of Stevie Wonder. Thank you. Since this summer's Queen concerts, I can now identify a Brian May guitar sound. I've always thought I knew funk, but other than Shady, I'm not really hearing it on the album.

Craazyforadam,
I loved your post yesterday about recognizable elements in Adam's music !
I love Cuckoo and I think it's a great song, but the reason I favour Trespassing a little bit more over it is that just there is so much more meaning behind it. I believe it is one of the most meaningful songs on the album for Adam. Plus all the other reasons stated by others today.
In that Tokyo FM interview Wal posted, Adam very emphaticly states that one of the most important things he wanted to explore were lyrical content and story-telling on the album. ( part 1, 7:45) ( I have no idea how on earth I missed that the first time I listened to this interview.)
If TP gets chosen, I can't wait to hear Adam's stories behind the lyrics during the promo. If Cuckoo is the one, happy-happy-joy-joy as well.

Here is a Funk explanation. From the master -- Bootsie! I actually remember watching this ages ago when someone (maybe you) posted it on Atop/PF.

I like some of the CEO ideas! It is much more fun that having to guess what wack scheme RCA will come up with this time. Just click on the word Quote above the comment you want to quote and it will automatically give you a quote with the credit line. A big thank you to Q3 and also to holst for your direction on this. Let's see if this works.. YAY! YOU DID IT!
