I don't think that we can say that being gay doesn't make it more difficult for Adam to get his song on the radio. His image still gets a lot of side eyeing. Lots because of being from Idol but IMO also because of his "flamboyant" image. It is not cool in the us to be a glambert ( I know you all are gonna give me shit for that) and it's not easy to pin it all on one thing--or his songs. Last I heard, Adam would agree with me that it is an issue. Thus, he trespasses! I agree. The very fact that he is the first openly gay man to have a recording contract and the first to be#1 on BB 200, Speaks louder than any words. He is Trespassing and using his voice to break the music business glass ceiling.Adam is one remarkable and courageous man,this on top of all his talent and beauty. |

Adam is getting a lot of great press from last night's event.  yes, and I am hoping for more mainstream coverage as so far the vast majority was in the LGBT publications. Ya know, there is a big difference in who the viewership is. I think sometimes I think I am wrongly under the impresssion that there is tons exposure because we scour the internet for mentions. I am gonna have to pay attention to where these things are printed before I cheer too much. He needs to be heard by the masses not just those seeking out gossip pics and already for gay rights. And yeah, I know there's more than this but I mean it as a general pondering. |

We need to see Adam on Ellen, No Doubt was on yesterday and sang 2 songs and had a nice interview. Maybe when he gets back from China.
On the subject of media coverage, I would love to see him on some of the magazines in the grocery store so he is getting into middle Amercia's home and I don not mean the rags but magazines that people will pick up and see him in a positive light.

I noticed he gets lots of attention in the mainstream press if there is a gate of any kind. That's the nature of the press and media in general. My local news is downright depressing. It's like nothing good is ever going on in a city area of almost a million people. A really good novel addresses this ..It's Called' THe Shipping News.'. |
