I love all the international exposure that Adam receives. I try to stay pretty philosophical about radio in North America. My radio station is constantly introducing new music, plays it a bit and then drops it if it doesn't take off. So it is not just Adam -- there are just not that many spots at the top and there is an awful lot of competition. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Trespassing!

Well, Trespassing is a hit with me, and with many others around the world already. It would be nice for Adam if it gets good play on radio, and I hope it does, and I'll vote and help all I can, but the radio doesn't dictate to me how to define success. Adam is making music and influencing the world around him positively and living with integrity. He has loyal fans who adore him- his music, his message and his example. I'm selfish that way, lol. My son, who just graduated from NYU film school and is editing his senior film, called me last night and teased about hoping for some massive festival success. My reply: You are already successful because of the self you have created, but you could be a bit more massively successful if you would call me more often, lol. Adam called that girl, and their conversation touched me. He touched me singing the duet. I love who he tries to be with others almost as much as I love his music and talent! Congratulations on your son's graduation  I really appreciate your definition of success and completely agree with it. Numbers, even with all their mathematical certainty, are fickle and deceptive. They are important to Adam, to us, but they are a side dish. Fortunately, Adam serves us the main course very often. |

It's been proven a song needs an audience impression of around 10 million for good sales to kick in. That's Top 15 on HAC and around Top 30 on Top 40 stations. So if the song gets dropped before it reaches that, it never takes off. "Catch 22!" |

Change of subject.......... THOUGHTS FROM A LONG, HOT SHOWER:
Before Adam has a chance to announce his birthday charity, which of course he didn't do until the last minute last year, I think we should set up a bribery fund. This thought was brought on by the boy singing CAN'T LET YOU GO.
We should request a private concert,pick a number - $10,000 - per song, ( I mean, think of what was raised for both donorschoose and charity:water) live streamed (pay minimal amt for GOOD livestream) and Adam can sing the songs we won't otherwise hear.

Maybe a list of 10 songs. Yes, he'd have to do some rehearsal with band, or even just keep it simple and do them acoustically with Brian and/or Tommy. His cost, reimbursed or fronted by us, musician's time, studio or wherever it is time, etc.
He can do what he wants with money, donate to charity, but I think we should take portion and get gift certificate FOR HIM to some place he would definitely have time to go even if 2013 is super busy, like Cabo, Hawaii (for you AlohaPF.) Nothing like Bora Bora that takes chunk of time and planning. It would have to be open-ended, good any time for 12 -15 months because if we bought for specific dates, you know we would have to go and hide in the bushes. Because if we don't, he would feel obligated to give it all away and in my humble opinion, he deserves a little of the fruits of his labor for himself (and significant other.)
There are undoubtedly numerous holes in my plan and my logic, but we've been talking about this kind of craziness for 3 years now and have never done anything about it, so why not go with the crazy. Good for us, good publicity, lots of fun, and might give Adam a chuckle.... or not.
We would have to do a mass tweet, or something, to get his attention then have someone he follows have him put us in contact with someone with whom we can talk in more than 140 character spurts to see if it's feasible. And surely there is someone on here who can coordinate the donation drive, which we would start up soon with a deadline of 12/31 so we know what we have at our disposal. HaHa. I'm done.

Ok, I just wanted to say I really appreciate all the support for Queen and also for my little Queen thread so I reciprocated. I don't usually do this whole request thing. In fact I never requested a song on the radio in my life...before today. I just hit up my local station for Trespassing.  Good luck Adam
There's nothing "little" about that Queen thread, I tell ya. It's quite impressive.
As are some other threads atopers dedicate themselves to - whether it's posting the pretty, analyzing the voice, archiving or numbers.
