I just got back from dinner with my son and I was catching up on all his news. He happened to have his BMI (Broadcast Music Inc.) check with him. We were laughing about the total amount of money he made for this time period for one of his songs, "I'll Get You." I thought some of you might be interested in the totals paid since we talk about YouTube and spotify from time to time.
During this period, the song was listened to:
29,500 times on Spotify = $2.50
Pandora: 14,000 = .18
YouTube: 13,000 times = $3.77
Rhapsody (times not listed) = .20
International views (not broken down) $47.00
$53.65.
Woo hoo! Getting rich, lol. We blew all his wealth on a lovely dinner. ;D

Lol, Lynne. I once had an employer who sent me a check for $0.13! It was quite noble of her, but after reading her letter abt wanting to "right the books" and as someone who coulda used a little windfall, I just cracked up at the amount! Ah, art. And my daughter's greatest desire, at 11, is to graduate from NYU film school!  |

Lol, Lynne. I once had an employer who sent me a check for $0.13! It was quite noble of her, but after reading her letter abt wanting to "right the books" and as someone who coulda used a little windfall, I just cracked up at the amount! Ah, art. And my daughter's greatest desire, at 11, is to graduate from NYU film school! Oh, well then, you can relate. My other son did just graduate from NYU film school. My oldest daughter is an art director. Artists = three for three! |

Recently, I read a report about the type of music HAC selects for their playlists. (wish I could find it now) The report stated that HAC stations know that a large part of their audience is Moms with kids in their car. Their surveys have shown that these mothers will change the radio channel if a song is coming on that has curse words in it. In other words, stations censor due to the fact that Moms will change to another station to avoid songs with curse words. [snickers] Of course some of us gave up on that strategy when we belatedly realized that our kids knew all the cuss words anyways...... :  Yes, and I must confess to my own kids thinking my exclamation of shhi-oot as an actual word. I am greatful for Glampoon's Tresping edit, which is one of those little things in life that never fail to amuse me. I crack whenever I think abt it, which often. Glamberts are so clever! |

Yes that is me with Adam- I met him at Z100- during the BTIKM push ( which they didn't play ). I am hoping they are going to get on the Trespassing bandwagon! Check out the video- I love Adamtopia!!!!
