Byron Cooke @byroncooke@adamlambert is homeless on radio ...and he's not alone. Why? Check my latest blog post here byroncooke.com/radios-homeless-artists-who-dont-fit-in/ … On the other side of the equation you have another brand of homeless artist – Adam Lambert. Despite his 2nd album Trespassing debuting at no.1 on the US Billboard chart this year, potential singles from his Pharrell Williams produced album can’t find a home amongst the traditional radio formats. Rolling Stone gave it rave reviews – but its too upbeat for a HOT AC station. It’s not “hip” enough for alternative. For whatever reason, its also not quite in the right slot for Top 40. This Byron Cooke article is interesting. Apparently one has to be firmly in a particular box to get radio play. Adam is "too upbeat" for Hot AC? By upbeat does that mean the positivity and certainty that he projects? I know some neighborhood teens who do not like his positivity (positivity is not hip, is old fashioned...), so that could be it. Who knows... I like the comparisons to Macklemore and Tyler the Creator because they sell out concerts without radio play. Screw radio, Adam, don't change to fit in one their boxes! Just keep growing the audience and being yourself. We are there for you! And we are all around the world! peace&love

lol I have a huge problem with names. I've called my boyfriend Alejandra, which is the name of my sister. I've also called my sister Juan, which is the name of my boyfriend. I've even called my boyfriend Sima, which is the name of my dog. My dog, OMG, can you imagine? lol So you see, calling my boyfriend Adam while being half asleep and on Adam's Twitter isn't that weird for me. [/IMG] [/IMG] [/IMG] [/IMG] [/IMG] [/IMG] [/IMG]
Bahaha, you called your boyfriend with your dog's name?! That's funny! :4OMG: It happened to me that I accidentally called one of my pets (a parakeet!) Adam, although his name is Elmo! My husband beside me was only smiling, I think, he knows where I am with my thoughts most of the time...! (Fortunately he is not angry, he only teases me!) ;D ---------------------------------------------------- I'm soooo curious about the surprise tomorrow (a tour, please!? ) , I hope afterwards I'm not disappointed! BTW, can't watch the VH1 stream here in Germany! :(

It's mostly ladies but they've had guys before. Didn't know the setlist was already announced According to Wikipedia, the following male artists have appeared on VH1 Divas as "Special Guest Performers": 1) Elton John, 1999 2) RuPaul, 2000 3) Stevie Wonder & a bunch of others, 2001 4) Stevie Wonder, Bobby Brown, Isley Brothers, 2003 5) Tom Jones, 2004 6) Stevie Wonder, 2009 7) Boyz II Men, Travie McCoy, 2011 So, it is possible that they could have Adam on the show. And considering how much the VH1 guys were Twitter berting during LITV, much more so than for any of the other artists, seems VH1 has a good opinion of Adam

I do not agree that Adam's music is not a great fit for any radio format -- Cuckoo is begging to be on Top 40 radio. Of course, it is sitting getting dusty. Dance pop music almost always becomes a hit on Rhythmic or Top 40 stations first then crosses over to Hot AC. Mid tempo ballads and singer songwriter mid-tempo ballads often start on Hot AC.

My driveway turned into a ski jump tonight any my car is stuck down an embankment in the woods. It means I have to work from home tomorrow so can watch Adam's announcement live on VH1 Buzz. This should not be making me feel so happy!
